So any plans to dyno your truck in the future?
Once I get tuned, geared to 4.10, and install a Transgo shift kit, I'll probably try to find a place to dyno mine for fun.
Are you on stock size tires and stock rear gears?

I just found online where it said base work trucks and SR5's did not come with an immobilizer. Mine is an SR5.

I can get cheap keys for mine

Have you done any other power mods?
That makes sense, the immobilizer chip is in the fat keys. I have skinny keys for both trucks.

My 06 has Dirty Deeds 12 hole injectors, Airaid modular intake tube, JBA longtubes, VF Tune, Dirty Deeds race exhaust, and 4.56 gears with 33's.

My 03 has DD 12 holes, Volant intake, JBA LTs, TRD dual exhaust, and will soon have the tuned ECU, 4.10 gears with stock tires, and Transgo shift kit on "truck" setting.

I can tell you best 0-60 time in the 03 is 6.1sec, using the Track Addict app. I haven't done my 06 yet because it's been sitting in need of repairs for about 9 months now. I was unemployed for about 6 months, so I been slowly fixing it.

Once I get the 06 fixed I need to do 0-60 run and maybe find a place I can drag race the two trucks.

Either way they both will likely get dyno'd in 2025.

I have not other than the headers and the DirtyDeeds cat back racing exhaust / duals. Everything but the tailpipes. I had a local shop put on the tailpipes.

I was going to get those 12 hole injectors. I know there's been a lot of debate on them, but I believe that is what they're putting in the Newer ones

I've done enough and crammed way too much into the last six months. Going to do the timing belt this weekend and I'm gonna slow down and work on the interior door panels next

Won't take on any more mechanical or performance projects until next year unless I have problems

I had a brain fart. It wasn't the check engine, but rather the maintenance required light. I haven't timed it, but it blinks for way too long.

Also just went out to test to be sure we had the ABS sensor issue resolved which it does appear to be. I'll try all the low-speed test and then realized I should do a higher speed stop

this time it was the check engine light as I was stopping. It went into safe/limp mode for the first time ever. P2111

Had to clear the code with my OBD app to get out of safe mode. It did not come back on, but I also did not do another hard stop.

Whats the countdown to your trip? Sounds like you pulled it off w shakedown time to spare.

Fyi, i will dyno my 02 ( throw stock 265 tires on) , i will have a different set up ( x pipe, hidden tips) and not make the power you vtec guys make lol. And 0-60 in 6 SECONDS? , damn. Thats impressive, i may be getting old
..i remember looking on back of CAR AND DRIVER , low 7's=fast, 6= really fast, 5= i cant afford the insurance fast lol. Could anybody log their iat and post? It was 98* here and sitting on RT 97 IT WAS hitting 140* heat soak at dead stop. ( AC cranked , 2 mile long mess if idling cars)

As soon as traffic clears us , the factory airbox w my crappy ram air mod gets it down to right around ambient. When i stick my hand in front left wheel well its cooking w fan blowing hot air off pass exhaust heat shield. Trying to figure out if my air box mod ( located next to pass headlight is helping or hurting) def lowers iat's above 40 mph. I have a stock box to swap in. But contrary to info on here, the truck does not feel like its breathing through straw anymore.

6.1sec without VVTI or a tune. But it was like 50° out that morning.

I monitor my IAT with my scan gauge. What app did you use to make that graph?
    My scanguage can't do that!

With Volant intake, which has its own airbox, temps get really hot at idle with the headers. I've seen it hit 140° at a light before. But it's also like 100° in TX this summer.
Once I get up to 60+ mph for a few minutes, it gets down within maybe 3° of ambient.

I have plans for a hood scoop that would plumb into the top of the Volant box.

Dont want to high jack thread. That graph is from OBDLINKmxpro . I stole a stock bottom half of airbox from a 01 SR5. IMO, YES , at low rpm the struck feels bottlenecked with stock airbox set up. So, i would disagree with the theory the stock air box is not a restriction. No hard data to back it up but it gets better fuel economy by about 2mpg and downshifts less. I dont need a dyno to know it works. I just use cap that " plugs" on to seal if I ever plan to nosedive it into deep water which i do not. I will say, people here are correct when they say our trucks dont like the K&N filters,

Made my truck idle low until i switched back to oem.

Yea you can see the correlation between sitting in traffic and getting truck up to speed pretty clearly.

Yeah cutting an extra hole in the air box is a good move for more air flow. On Tacoma World they use a deck plate from a boat to get the same effect as you and can close it when necessary. "Deck plate mod".
I've seen references to a "stock airbox mod" but I haven't seen it myself. I suspect it's basically the same as what you did.
Another similar mod I've personally used in the past is the "swiss cheese air box mod" on my Ranger.

One last tidbit you can do for a better flow and a little noise is cut off all the baffles and resonators from the intake tube and seal them so it's smoother.
I use the Airaid modular intake tube with stock air box on my 06. K&N also has a similar tube, I think it's called the "junior" or something.

Definitely made a difference as it's about to be July 17 and I haven't so much as received a shipping notification email.
I placed the order July 7 and was asked my part number July 11.
    I'm getting impatient lol.
Everytime I get a new email I think it's going to me the shipping notification and racking number. The dude didn't ever reply when I sent em a pic of the label on my ECU.

I was finally able to record the sound of the new racing dual exhaust, 16" BAM mufflers, and long tube headers from DirtyDeeds on my 06 4.7 DC

this is after a warm start, rev to 2000 RPM's, a couple to 4000, and then once more to 2000

very quiet at idle. Relatively tame if you're driving slow, but as you can hear in the video it wakes up when you get on it.

I'm still waiting on my ECU. I talked to Brandon today and he expects to have it ready by the end of next week.

there are some quirky things with the idle. When you crank it, it is at 1800 RPM which it has never ever done. It will gradually come back down to normal as though it was just the fast idle when cold

And there is a condition where you give it gas while stopped and let off and it will drop down to about 500 RPMs. I haven't been able to drive it enough yet identify the exact conditions

And that guy has not responded to my emails. But I was down with Covid for a couple of weeks. I've hardly driven it because I've been working on the timing belt so I haven't pushed him hard. But just to totally ignore me doesn't sit well with me.

The actual performance I absolutely love. And I'm not absolutely positive this is all related to the ECU, but that seems the most likely cause. I just haven't been able to drive enough to fully test

If it makes you feel any better, it took me a couple YEARS of trying to make first contact to a guy in Slovenia who can delete the immobizer from a KTM 990’s ECU. Once he finally replied to my email, i just made sure to stay 100% on top of communicating with him…and it was still hit and miss if or when he would reply. In a hail mary pass i shipped two KTM ECUs to him…not knowing for sure if i would ever seem them again. He says he has a one day turn around time, but it took him closer to a couple months. Many other ktm owners have used the guy before (including one of my friends), and were very pleased with his work, so i knew he was legit. Long story short i got both my ECUs back and they perform exactly how they should, but i don’t want to go through the process with that guy again. He’s a stand up honest guy, but for some reason he was reeeeealy slow with my ECUs. You would think that if he’s making close to $400 USD for each immobilizer removal (and i sent him two of them), it would be great incentive to do the hour of two worth of labor to put all that $$$ in your pocket!

@Weagle you ever get your timing belt done and hear back from Brandon?
    How's the truck running now?

I'm still waiting on him to make an ECU for me. As of this Saturday September 7, it's been 2 months since purchase date.
He's had a lot of excuses...
