Daytime running lights

Why don’t you get Spyder Headlights and you can have the LED strip as DRL along w Amber...

 

I made the LED strip as DRL along w Amber.

 

I'm on a budget so which gives me more bang for my buck? Would rather have good quality at a decent price than crap that will need to be replaced in a year

2018 sr5 has led daytime running lights too. Should be cheaper and has a black housing instead of chrome. Paging @Roman

Cheaper for the lights? or for the lights and wiring harness? And i have the leveling motor on my current headlights. If it's not plug and play in screwed me and electrical don't get along too well unless I'm just replacing my battery

It comes w the motor but you will need a small harness. I’m sure @TundraTex can help you or @iHacker can build you one. Should only require 2 connectors and 1 relay.

So for head lights, I'd say save the money and get Spyders, Anzos or a set of 2018s.
As someone else mentioned and being in GA I can confirm, the daytime LED extension panels, are standard on XSP, XSP-X and XP models.

As a side note, all the XSP, etc. are trim packages in the southeast states (TN, AL, GA, FL, NC, SC). The TSS trim packages are in the gulf states (AL, MS, LA and TX).

You might try one of the southeast dealerships like Cool Springs or Sparks. Oddly enough, they won't sell these in the southeast?!?! I guess they want you to buy the whole damn truck

Spyders....

 

The 2018 SR5s with the LED DRL have the same connectors as the 2014-17 Platinum models. It still uses a normal headlight bulb, but has the 4 pin LED DRL connector. It should be easier to come up with a harness for it than the LED headlamps.

 

I just noticed the LED strips on my Spyders do not run when DRLs are running. How did you get them to run with the amber DRLs?

 

I had to jump a wire from amber to Led strip. Another member asked me the same question. I will try to take some pics of the wire and post em.

 

So @4x4_Angel what headlight did you ever decide on?

 

@4x4_Angel I've got these, truck came with them new. I've since cut the Amber DRL wire.

 

I still have OEM headlights....just with black casing as opposed to the chrome...I'll take pics in the morning

I was talking about the LED strip in the panel below my headlights.

 

IMO go for the 2019 trd pro led headlight, and @iHacker harness, I did the drl on high all the time mod. One of the best mods you can do IMO. The light output is great.

Yes you would need to take the lights you have apart to add a led strip.
