How much are you guys dropping on the OEM camera? I'm seeing around $430 or so on Fleabay.

    Is that a ripoff price?

Wait, is this normal? This is totally a deal killer for me. I've been debating whether to stay oem or go with an aftermarket.

It needed a storage card. They didn't tell me that.

Whether you go OEM or aftermarket, the important thing is to get a cam installed and running and having underinsured motorist coverage.

Thanks for the thread, I passed on the dash cam when I bought the Tundra since they wanted $1200 for it!!! I'll look at following what you all have done.

I'm about to install the same camera. Did you take the cover off the rear view mirror or just fish it through? It looks like a jigsaw puzzle to me and I don't want to break it or not have it re-installed correctly. That plastic around the mirror is probably $200 knowing them.

You have to pull down the sunglasses holder/dome light piece is all. Pull from front to back. It does feel like it’ll break. Just go slow and work around it. From there, you can plug the adapter in and fish the wire down by the mirror. No need to pull the mirror cover off. Good luck! If you need help I’m happy to make a (crappy) video tomorrow

    Thank You!
I'll take a look at it and hopefully you won't need to make a video!

I got a nice clean install looking similar to yours. Worst parts were pulling the console down and feeding the cable through the headliner. Those videos fro @Maharisc were pretty helpful too... Thanks!

Did you get an answer to this? I haven't seen any good use cases.

Anyone know what all the wires are for in the plug, I was thinking of installing this in a 2020 but looking for what each wire does in the plug?
