    I agree with several others in this thread: Ask the dealer. If you don’t trust them, don’t service your vehicle there. My local Toyota was about 50/50 when I had my tundra serviced in regards to unplugging my dash cam. I never thought twice about it; just plugged it back in when I picked up the vehicle.

    Lower shop rate? So you would choose your mechanic primarily on price?

    As a business owner, you know that oftentimes you get what you pay for, and lower price isn't necessarily best choice

    You never asked where I would take it. You asked which do I think would get more business. I think the cheap guy would.

    There is a reason discount airlines are successful. Same goes for mechanics, garbage fuel from no name gas stations, Costcos etc. People like to pay less. It’s a fact.
