I dont think replacing the dash speaker will be the first thing to do. Im pretty sure there powered off the radio not the amp. I would start with the door speakers to contact James at tech 12 volts.com and replace the factory sub. He had some Plug and play systems. I would start with a sub. Im starting by replacing the factory JBL amp with a ADS-DSR1 WITH TO3 HARNESS . TO3 HARNESS and adding a AudioControl D-6.1200 6-Channel Car Amplifier with Digital Signal Processing. For now im just throwing a cheap 8" sub into he factory plastic sub box until I have the funds to replace all the speakers. But the dash speakers are last on my list. so far I have spent 1000$. but im keeping the truck and dont have to hack any wires every thing is pretty much plug and play. good luck.

James at tech12volts is the way to go.
I used some 3.5 inch infinity reference speakers in the corners and his dual tweeter mount for some JL C1 tweeters in the center.
If you plan to replace the door speakers with components with tweeters in the sale panel it may not be worth doing the dash depending on what you wanna accomplish.

Do not tap into anything !!! You don't need to.

As previously stated, James has everything you need to do a pnp system.

Im running the oem Entune head unit and just added James JL Audio tweeters in the dash. Major improvement. Im also running Kenwood amp and a Audiocontrol lc7i line out converter. Im sure that help to.

+1, I don't have JBL but added amp and components. I don't even hear the dash speakers.

Did you add sail panel tweeters with your upgrade?

When I added my dash speakers I cut off the speaker end connector and soldiered them to the new speakers and instant connection.
