I could have swore that noise was coming from low on the windshield and was going to dismiss the possibly of the windshield stopper at the top. Amazing how sound travels. The key is to make sure you pry the metal away from the glass. Removing the tip of the windshield stopper allows you to do this. I had some running around to do today and was in the truck for about three hours and not one tick. It ticked every time I was driving it.

This should really be made a sticky. The tick/rattle on the passenger dash side is quite a common occurrence.

    Glad this worked for you.

I agree, needs to be stickied or something for members with the same issue.

So you have to pull the headliner down a couple inches, what is actually holding it in place?

The side pillars, sun visors, roof console. If you only have the rattle/tic on the passenger side I would just remove everything off that side. Carefully pull the roof liner down just enough to get at the stopper. You can easily crease it if you pull it down too far. Snip the end of the stopper off then use a plastic pry tool and give a gap between the glass and metal. Use the tool like a wedge to create a gap. Dont use a screwdriver and get aggressive because you could break the glass.

My dash would rattle and it sounded like it was coming from the window hitting the dash. But it was the wiring harness inside the dash for the speaker. I added a few pieces of foam or padding and it solved the problem. I was about ready to trade my truck in because it was driving me crazy. Lol. ED58E68C-1887-4195-A20B-364BFA7526B5.jpg

I am a little late chiming in here but had a rattle that sounded like it was in the same area upper part of dash. The dealer first thought it was those wires of the speakers but after a day or two the noise was back.
So if it comes back check the front cowling under the wipers. I was determined one to find what was causing it. The plastic cowling was hitting the glass witch was the cause. Adding a bit of foam tape undef the cowling fixed it for good.

There is a tsb for the windshield glass stop. It's responsible for most of the rattles in the dash.

I used this Rem Oil on the cowling and the rubber price. Sprayed the entire length along the rubber to windshield and the seem between the rubber and the plastic cowling.
It penetrated and dried leaving behind only the tfe.

LOL to see this thread keep popping up. I chased my rattle down but never found it but seemed to have gone away. But I also think it only happens in cooler weather so basically the winter months here. I guess I'll find out in a couple weeks if it comes back.

Just had my factory windshield replaced by safelight due to a large crack. The factory windshield clips were definitely causing a severe creaking noise that is now gone!

Nice, the strange thing is that the sound seems like it's coming from the dash area but actually form the top of the windshield.

If you don't want to take it back to the dealer and have your issues addressed then sell it. Used Tundras prices are good and you should be able to get your money back.

    Function before sparkle.
Stick a trim tool in between the cowling and windshield. Between the wipers on the outside of the truck. I had a cowling squeak only when it’s cold out that sounded like it’s inside. If the sound is gone, it’s the cowling making a tiny contact somewhere. Easy dealer fix.

You would get close to what you paid for the shit rattle box.

My dealer offered to take back my shit rattle box for almost what I paid. There's a shortage of Tundras on the lot.

Life's to short to complain about a truck you don't like.

Hey bud, it's a forum. If you only wanted a response from him then you should have PMed him.

Coming to a Tundra forum and describing it as a shit rattle box is going to get you a response.

This is the other thing, does it feel like a vibration when your sitting with the truck in gear, fully stopped? once you move it goes away, feels like its coming from that speaker.

Winnipeg. The truck's 2 years old now. The rattle doesn't bother me like it did when it was brand new. Maybe I just got used to it? Either way, I didn't take it back to the dealer for any further exploration because I didn't want them tearing into the dash for one rattle, and creating 5 more in the process. Also, I talked to some of the managers at work who also drive Tundras, and they told me theirs also makes the same rattle.

Whatever, I'm over it. The dash only rattles/squeaks when its very cold out. The rest of the time it's fine. I'm enjoying the truck for what it is, which to me is a powerhouse V8, and a beast in the snow.

So, if i understand this correctly. This product provides a lubricant between the areas that are rattling/squeaking and it stops it from rattling and squeaking? Am i accurate with this assumption?
