Nope, pretty easy to find, top of the fender where it meets the pillar.

Was it like a ticking noise ? Having a new ticking noise with My 19 , started last day , I tried to push the camera like you mentioned but that didn't help , sounds seems to be coming from dashboard hard to tell from what area

I think this is my issue , had my 6 years old shake it from outside while sitting in the truck and I think we nailed it. I need to figure out how to pass the zip ties like you mentioned

Mine was more of a ticking than a rattle but I'm gonna check that cowling out as well as I've had trouble with those coming loose in other vehicles I've had.

Yeah sit in the truck and have someone move it , was able to replicate the ticking by having my 6 years old move it while I'm Inside the truck

Anybody know how hard it is to remove the wiper cowl?

I want to remove it completely to see if the tick noise is from that.

I did remove the cowling on my 08 yrs back, which I suppose is similar. It was fairly straight forward, wiper arms need to come off, then it's basically finding the clips and push tabs holding the thing on. I don't see an actual video on how to do it.

Reason I removed mine was to fasten a metal screen over the air intake that's under the cowel, to keep damn mice from getting in the fan. Worked like a charm.

Any chance that tick is coming from the radar camera that sits by the rearview mirror? I know with mine if I push hard directly on it yhe ticking stops. I need to wedge something under it to try and stop it permanently. I was sure it was coming from the dash.

It's not hard, remove the wipers and remove the two plastic screws on each end. There is a series of clips along the cowl at the front. Squeeze them together to release the pull the cowl forward to remove.

That's what I'm thinking because the noise is present after the inside of my truck is warmed up. Has to be outside by the window / cowl area.

Just a heads up after talking with the service manager tonight. Don't get it checked while getting an oil change or service visit, he said they probably didn't have a certified technician actually looking at it, might have just been a person that changes the oil.

They looked at mine after they changed my oil a few weeks ago and didn't find anything.

Last time I had a rattle a certified tech went on a drive with me to pinpoint the problem and actually fixed it.

Fingers crossed it gets resolved Friday.

Had a kind ticking noise under the cowl in my 06 Tundra, took it in to the dealer and some well placed anti squeak tape fixed it. That was a new one on me at the time, anti-squeak tape, lol. It's amazing how the sound from that area seems to amplify throughtout the cab.

    @jtundra05

Just picked up my truck from the dealership this afternoon. Dropped it off yesterday morning. Tick / rattle completely fixed.

This was the cause. They said the TAC system (no clue what that means) showed 3 previous cases with 18+ tundras.

After reading the tsb it says the tic is caused by the windshield stoppers and says the stoppers on the Tundra are only at the top. Most report the rattle at the bottom passenger side.

I would take it in and show them the service bulletin posted above. I gave them some information on what I thought was causing the issue and they had my truck almost a day and a half. I think a few members removed the tabs in question themselves.

I thought my tick noise was also from the passenger bottom as well. I guess noise travels? I really thought it was the wiper cowl but it was those tabs.

So I removed both side pillars, visors and center console to pull the headliner down a couple of inches. yiu have to be careful not to crease the headliner. Here is what the windshield stopper looks like.
    20200216_134449.jpg

This is the driver's side. The stopper is used during assembly and keeps the window in position until the urethane dries. The instructions are to cut the tip of the stopper of the bend some metal which the tsb was very vague. Here is what the passenger side looked like after cutting.
    20200216_134100.jpg
If you look close the metal on the passenger side is up against the plastic attached to the windshieldand the drivers side has a gap. I carefully used my plastic trim tool to create a gap. You have to be careful or you could possibly break the glass if you too aggressive. I realize that most hear the noise down low but the noise does transfer and you think it's coming from the bottom. The metal and the plastic attached to the glass move with the body flexing. Giving it a gap stops the tick noise.
