Anyone else find that the main instument cluster is hard to read during the day? So much easier to see if I turn the headlight switch to the first position (front side lights and tail lights on) but it also dims the center dash screen. Can I use Techstream to change the dash light settings?

on 2014+ I believe you adjust the lights by turning the trip odometer counterclockwise

Well, that's intuitive! No wonder I couldn't find it. Again, maybe I should read the manual ...

Welcome to 3rd gen:). Dash light comes on only with side markers and low/high beam.

Just went and tried using the odometer knob. It does brighten and dim the little screen in the center of the dash cluster when the lights are off but does nothing for the gauges themselves unless the light switch is on. Any other ideas anyone?

I actually opened a case with Toyota about this and their "Product Specialist" agreed with the problem BUT wanted me to have it documented by the Servicing Dealer. They did NOT test this scenario.

In another words, you can live with it OR turn on your lights and deal with the dimmed center console.

I think there is a setting in your preferences to keep the center dash/rear camera screen bright instead of dimming when the headlights are on. I'll have to see if I can find the instructions again...

I took a look at the manual again and you can turn the radio/camera screen "day/night" setting on or off so that the screen will be bright regardless of the headlights being on or not. Press "Apps", then "Setup", then "Display", then "Day Mode", then "on" or "off". Don't know if this helps or not...
