Thank you! It's a new chapter for sure.

I really enjoy the Platinum too. I didn't think I'd use all the options I overpaid for (memory seats, seat coolers, etc) but I have a lot. That's a big range. Hopefully you are enjoying each of the different stages and roles you play in their lives.

Found some pictures of my dad doing the BMC for me. Yes, we did triple jackstands on the frame since I only had 2.5 ton stands at the time. Also found two more pictures showing the smoked mesquite in different lighting. Love that color pop in sunlight.

For people considering 17" Methods (since 17" selections are far and few that fit over the Tundra brakes, this is how close the wheel is to the caliper. That's why it's important for you to tell them to put the balance weights on the edge of the wheels.IMG_2478.jpg

No worries, your color is unique! It doesn't even look like a stock color. I honestly have never seen it before, looks awesome in your profile picture with the sun hitting it.

Did you have any rubbing on the mud guard with the 35 12.50. I have the same tire on 20 " rims and doesnt look like the tire will clear the mud guards Tundra.jpg

The stock mud guards are removed and I did a body mount chop. The new mud guards are much thinner and rub slightly.

No worries man. To clarify...if i had no mud guards, I would not rub at all due to the BMC. Since these guards don't curve tightly (hugging) towards the BMC, they rub, otherwise they wouldn't.

I got the XL but I modified where I drilled the holes to sit at my desired position inward. I wanted protection but in stock position for the XL, it sticks out too much and looks bad.

Was not feeling the chrome door handles and mirror caps. So I decided to paint them myself. Will update on longevity but I have followed a few threads where people have had long term success doing their own. 320 grit sanding, 3x primer, 3x base, 4x clear.

Nice! I had a fully loaded chromed out F-150 when I got divorced and my now wife laughed at me for having a daddy truck - so I switched it up to my 2019 Tundra. Love it.

Impromptu photosession on the way back from the supermarket for babyfood, haha. Nothing new since the color matched door handles and mirror caps except a new retractable Gatortrax bed cover and blacking out the platinum badge and 4x4 badge in the rear.

The Toyota’s will grow with the family......my daughter just turned 16 and we bought her a 2007 4runner to go with my tundra and the wife’s rav4. We are finished growing the family after 2 daughters, but I have a feeli more Toyota’s may show up in the driveway before we are all said and done (have a 13 year old daughter as well).

My previous vehicle was a 2004 4Runner, parents have a LS460, sister Camry, wife Highlander. We've definitely drunk the Kool-Aid.

Congratulations! Ours is 14 months today...time truly flies. I have a 2005 350Z I've had for 16 years (69K miles) in the garage that rarely gets driven these days, I understand...some cars aren't family friendly!

I really like those rims...probably the best looking aftermarket rims I have seen posted on this forum. But for full disclosure, part of my criteria if ease of cleaning!

As for kids, our two sons were two years apart. When full car seats and strollers per part of the equation, we had a mini-van. But once they graduated from strollers and full cars seats to just a simple booster seat, my wife wanted no part of the van. We traded it for a Civic Sedan. She much preferred having the kids trapped at arms length in that little car vs not be able to reach them in the van and them on occasion escaping their boosters and heading to the back of the van. She was a stay at home mom so she was the one driving them around to school and various activities 90% of the time. Even as they grew there was plenty of room for them as my wife is 5'3" so drivers seat was always up and since we never rode as a family in that car, driver seat was kept up...plenty of leg room for them well into their teen. Goes against the norm I know but it worked great for her! When it was vacation time, we would just rent a mini van...road tar, beach sand, buildup of bugs, spilled soda and greasy fry fingerprints...never gave it a second thought!

I think I may keep the 350Z another 40 years, it probably will be the Tundra when he finally needs a car, then I'll finally get a new one. At my rate, it'll have 75K miles in 15 years.
