I wonder why the OEM boot wouldn't fit.

I wonder if your axles were original? Maybe they were after markets and the reason the OEM Boots didn’t fit? Post up the Toy part # you ordered so we can see what not to order.

    I would be happy to.

I am almost certain the CV axles are original.

I purchased the truck new and I can never remember replacing the axles.

    For reference I have a 2001 Access Cab SR5 4X4, 4.7 liter, Auto:

The part # was Genuine Toyota 04438-0C020 Driveshaft Boot Kit, Front

Bummer man. Looks like this is the only boot kit so now I really wonder whats up? Only thing I can consider is the original part # was superseded by yours.

The outer (larger) boot was too big to fit snugly on the housing and the inner boot was too small. I thought keeping my OEM axle would be best but I couldn't get anything to work. I needed to get my truck fixed to commute to work on Monday so a new axle was my best option on short notice.

Yeah. Having never done a boot repair or swap of a new axle I think you made the right move even though you spent more $ than you would have liked. All that work and it just makes sense to swap it all out and put in new. Thanks for the heads up on these boot kits.
