    Thanks for the info. Good to know, I'll stick with OEM then, the place I was going to take it in was trying to encourage me to go aftermarket extended travel for around the same price--but I'd always must rather have oem if given a choice

    I would recommend just rebooting your OEM axles. I've done two of my own now and it is not bad at all, just a little messy. I'm going to try out the porsche boot mod on my spare axles that I'm about to reboot. My tip is to buy oem used axles off ebay and reboot them. I've bought them with a return policy and for $100 or less each.

    Shit. You're right. My bad.

    If it's just loose and not torn, simply re-clamp it. It's typical for them to kick out grease after lifting, specifically, but if the issue is that the boot popped off the clamp site, re-clamp. The diameter is printed on the clamp (like this), and here's a list of NORMA clamps that are good for the job.

    When parts are fully discontinued, you can't even load them up at the national Toyota parts site. The fact they're still in the system there suggests they have limited availability at the moment.
