My tires stick out almost as much and I'm seriously considering flares. Only to keep mud and other crap that I don't want on my face or inside the cab. Of course keeping the windows up couldn't hurt.

I'm trying to figure out what I want to do. I hate the tucked in look and think I'll probably get new wheels at some point. Spacers are a cheap fix and good way to figure out what offset to go with. Flares are being considered as well.

You are going to like your Dura Tracs. Once my Nittos wear out, Dura Tracs are still on top of my list, although I do like the new Cooper SST M/T's.

Super bored working away from home over the holidays. Here are a few pictures of the work truck. The rain stopped long enough to get a little flying in.

Where a bouts in Oregon was the chopper/"work truck" pic taken? I lived in Oregon from 4th grade to college, centuries ago. Just south of Eugene. I know that "Oregon Life Guard" is found all over Oregon, from Grant's Pass to Tillamook and beyond. Critical care/life savers. :oldglory:

The aircraft originally started in Grants Pass but moved to Tillamook in March. First shot is north of Lincoln City on 101, second is the hospital pad in Tillamook. Pretty area but the weather sucks this time of year. I'm just covering an open position for the winter. I'll transfer back to a Wyoming fire contract in April.

The Oregon coast is beautiful year round, but winter months can be brutal, (not necessarily frigid cold, rarely snow in fact). Not great chopper weather at times as you know. My co-worker Allan's daughter flies a SAR chopper for the Coast Guard out in Florida. My dad flew choppers, Sioux and Sikorsky's, early in his Marine career in Korea (1950, over 100+ chopper missions), mixed in between fixed wing props (Grumman F4-U fighter/ground support in China 1947-49) , and jets, F5F cougar photo recon, A-4, A-10, and F-4's ( a hot rod), and finished up flying the SAR CH-46 at El Toro Marine Base, CA in 65. Viet Nam came and my mom told him to retire or else. heh heh. My mom is still alive. 93. She told me about officer wives' bridge parties with Marge Glenn (as in John Glenn, at MCAS Beaufort,SC in the early sixties, maybe late fifties.

That's awesome. I've been super lucky to be in the right place at the right time in my career. Current employer keeps expanding medical bases and also has utility work. I've spent the last six years working out of Montrose and Vail, Colorado. Vernal and Moab, Utah before getting a chance at fire and long line work this past summer. Some great locations for scenery. Oregon is a two weeks per month rotation and I think would be great outside of winter. I live to ski and rainy winters are not my happy place. Wyoming isn't my favorite either but I work with great crews and fighting fires is the most fun I've had flying. Can't wait for the season to start.

You pretty much have to go where your are needed. Main thing is to make the best of it no matter where you are sent. I wanted to be a Marine Aviator but I was near sighted. Funny thing is , I had Lasik done a few years back and I have 20/15 vision now at 60. Figures. Right place at right time is crucial. heh heh

Side note: My dad told me "any landing that you walk away from is a good landing"

Added LED fogs to match headlights that are off for retrofitting. Install was easy and they look good. Unsure what the output is until it gets dark.

Tinted the tails. Little darker than I wanted but they're growing on me. I'll update to a better picture when I get good light and a clean truck.

I think good so far. Only used them once and it was bad weather with stock heads. Now that the new headlight are in and I think aimed correctly, I need to get out in the dark. May need a few tweaks but the color matches and they're better than stock.

Thanks. I had the shop that did my tint spray them. I think he uses model enamel. Not really sure. Came out a little darker than I wanted but they've grown on me. Shell should be off in the next few weeks and I'll be able to swap the 3rd light.

Spring skiing with the dogs might be better than the actual ski season.

I'm looking to get those tires as well (295/65R18 Duratrac), did you have any rubbing issues before you installed Spidertrax?
