If you're adding a leaf at the bottom, then shouldn't be a problem. If you're inserting the leaf in between the pack, then the pack will expand when you remove the center pin. If your clamp doesn't allow it to expand enough, then it might not be as easy to get the leaf in.

When I inserted my AAL, I pulled the pack, separated the top 4 leaves and held them together with the clamp using a screwdriver to keep the holes lined up. For the bottom part of the pack I used the "old" bolt to keep them lined up.

Unfortunately, the leaf he sent me was too long so I "modified" it (the ends were hitting the retainer rivets on either side of the pack)

    1.

From top to bottom it went between leaves 4 & 5. I was gonna dremel the retainer bolt holes because the bolts wouldn't quite slide through due to the pack being thicker but I ended up clamping down enough to get the bolts through.

    I had 8 now I have 9

They are installed. Yes, they look basically flat across with minimal arch but maybe it's because of the Toytec shackles? From bottom of the flare to the ground was 41 1/4 and after was 41 3/4.

Looks great dude! I couldn't get my sway bar back on after I added the leaf. Ordered longer links so will see if I can get it back on once they arrive

Thanks. So the "flat" look is okay? Those fkers are heavy when you're working by yourself. Gonna test drive shortly.

You ain't lyin. I swear 9 leaves is close to 100#

I think with the amount of leaves you have, minimal lift, you shouldn't expect much arch.

^^^This. You had them built to 1/2” lift, plus the additional 1.5” from the Toytec shackles. They look as I would expect them to.

Thanks @texasrho83 and @BayRunner. You guys are more familiar with the leaf spring design on the Tundras more than I am.

Yw. Let us know what you think of the ride.

Also, can you take a pic of your shackle from the rear? Specifically where it bolts onto the leaf. I'm curious about somethin...

Ride was nice. I went over some large speed bumps at 25 mph and it felt like the ride over them was softer.

Any of you guys know what would cause a pop when reversing? From what I can tell, it only does it in the morning when I am backing out of the driveway.

Are you moving in reverse when it pops or when you put the transmission into reverse?

Try taking video of your leaf springs, shackles, or 3rd member. Might take a few mornings to capture what it is.

    Lots of shenanigans.
Just got the leaf springs but prob won't be able to work on it for another few weeks. I noticed some slight chipping from the powder coat. Idk if it is worth mentioning to Lew or not. Also, on both leaf springs, the second leaf seems to be pushed out slightly compared to the others. Is this normal?

It's normal for leafs to twist out of position, just bang it back in place with a hammer. Don't overtighten that center pin thinking it'll hold it in place. It's not powder coating, they dip the whole thing in some sort of coating for rust protection, which doesn't really stay on there - it'll start to eventually peel. UPS guy probably didn't like carrying it and let it scrape.

Thanks man! Should I just spray it with some Rustoleum before I install it? Do I need to loosen the center bolt then hammer it into position or just try hammering it into position as is?

Do not loosen the center pin. Just hammer it as is, it'll move easily. Definitely rattle can it.

Mine looked the same. I have to touch them up still. Be very careful of the ABS wire when you lift them over the axle.
