I went with the Alcan shackles and u-bolts. It looks like there are 2 settings on the shackles (mentioned on the thread earlier as well I believe), which I wasn't aware of when I ordered them. They're on the top setting now, so if they end up being a bit tall I can drop them to the lower setting.

I want to keep some rake and only want enough to clear the 295/70/18s in the front without a BMC. Just put those on last week as well, so tweaking things a bit.

I won't have too, too much weight in it til spring/summer so I've got time.

Sounds like you have the shackles installed at the 1” setting. This explains your 2.25” lift (1.5” springs + 1” shackle) should have given You 2.5” but came in at 2.25”.

Well....doesn't that make sense! I hadn't been underneath since the install until this morning to swap out the stock spare for a full one. Just saw the 2 settings.

Good call and thanks. My first time going through the upgraded suspension route. I'll have to check the notes to see if it was 2.25 or 2.5. Could be wrong on that one earlier.

Hopefully their springs are better than their customer service. I sent them the ubolt measurements on Monday and not even a courtesy reply to say that they received them. No idea when the springs will ship.

Just a question. Did folks who have problems with their Alcan springs flattening out actually SCALE their trucks with all their equipment loaded? Or just make an estimate of loaded weight?

Alcan doesn't ask everyone for their actual weight. I guess it depends on what you tell them your setup is when you order.

That’s why I ordered mine separately, to keep them focused on getting my pack sent out.

Don’t know if I mentioned this already but get yourself a 3/8” x 12” carriage bolt. When you take out the center pin and release the pack, to insert the leaf, they are going to expand. Getting the center pin holes to line up as you compress them will be a bitch. Use the 12” bolt to guide each leaf as you begin to compress the pack. Always make sure to recenter the bolt to ensure it doesn’t bind up so when you go to remove the bolt it comes out easy. When you’ve got the pack fully compressed remove the 12” bolt and replace it with the center pin.

Just another example of customer service going to shit. We don't even eat out any more because people don't want to work, and it's hard to trust some of the ones that do......alot of them look disgruntled.

I'm still floored after finding out about their warranty, or more like the lack of.

Weird. I email Lew and get responses the next day. I have the impression they're a smaller outfit and very busy - I called a couple times and feel like I already know everyone up front by their first names lol

I never received an order confirmation email or a receipt email. I know they have the order because I called a few days later to make a change and Lew pulled it out of a paper pile. Has anyone received an email order confirmation or a revolt?

For those of you running the Timbren bump stops with the lifted Alcans, are you running just the bump stops or are you including any additional Timbren spacers with the bump stops? Since the Alcan springs provide more wheel travel, I just want to make sure there is no over extending the springs with the proper bump stop height.

I'm not sure on your question but I ordered the Timbrens and did not order any spacers. Did you order the Timbrens yet? If not, sign up for Wheelers newsletter and they will send you a 10% off coupon. Also no tax and free shipping. Mine were $202.00. I ordered them on the 3rd, shipping notification yesterday, and due UPS delivery by the 13th.

Yes, I already have the Timbrens sitting here in the box and just waiting on the springs. I’m probably over thinking it but was reading that the Alcon springs allows more wheel travel. My springs will have a 2” lift so didn’t know if the Timbrens bump stops was high enough to prevent the springs from over compressing. So I was wondering if I needed to ad a spacer to the bum stops in order to raise them up a bit.

I ordered a set of stops from Wheelers. They'll be in on Saturday. Ordered their biggest spacer too.

I just got my shipping notification. I looked at my card account and the shipping for the springs and ubolts is $222.90. I am in St. Petersburg so yours should be really close to that.

I had to send an email asking for the confirmation email. He sent it after the second email so I guess looking back there were some minor customer service issues.
