I was kind of nervous about the Alcans because all the negative reviews it had

    Lots of shenanigans.
What negative reviews? So far I have only heard of positive things. It's a little late for me to swap out but I wouldn't mind looking for specific issues.

I have only seen one issue where it was reported of the springs flattening. Other than that one, all others have raved and reported positive comments. This includes outside the Thndea community.

1750! :eek2: Holy shit! Mine are built to 1350 and I thought mine were :benchpress:
I got my Ubolts elsewhere. As long as they're the right size it doesn't really matter.

Got my Alcans the other day, but still waiting for the custom shackles they made for me.
Mine are 5" of lift with Orbit Eyes and 1" shackles.

Are the bushings easy to install or do they require specialized tools? Thinking about trying to do the leaf spring swap myself but the Dobinsons springs come w/o the bushings installed.

Their Google reviews are 3.5 out of five. Just read through some of the reviews on Google. I also understand that people post bogus reviews too.

I don't see any problem with it as long as you also add heighth to the bump stop to prevent from flattening the springs as it all compresses over big bumps and whatnot while loaded. Good luck!

Alcan shipped out extra leaves for my pack and they'll be here by next Thurs. It seems y'all are smarter than me and weighed your rear end to give him a more accurate idea - turns out my rear bumper (aftermarket) weighed more than I thought. Eh, I get to tear it all down again but I don't mind - excuse to drink more beer

It has been a debatable topic but the way ubolts are designed, once they are torqued, they are a use once and done. Their email about ubolt measurements even says replacement is recommended. :notsure:

What extra load capacity was your springs built for and is your actual load. Just curious as I wonder about my own calculations.

It's the way the threads are rolled during the torquing feature. They have been known to come loose after being reused.

These are my Alcans with 2” lift and 500#s over strength with my habitat tent and fridge slide in:
Gott go by scales to get actual weight for Lew next week.
It rides great. Just concerned about the bend in front section of spring.

Geez, they look like my stock leafs. I am not an expert but they don't look too hot to me. Are you getting new Alcans?

For sure! It looks way better than my stock leafs right now. Lol, mine are about to do a frowny face with how overweight I am.
