My damn popping noise is back. I'm going to have to look at the sway bar now. I have to look up the torque values for it again.

Not only is the pop back, it did it pulling back into the driveway. I rolled it down the driveway earlier so I could clean out the garage. Now ill have to see if it does it after a drive and I pull back in.

Yes. The pop is definitely in the rear though.

    Too many, but not enough....
I was looking into deavers and realized they are 30 minutes from me. I guess my decision is made.

I went on a 20 mile trail up the mountains yesterday and realized how bad I need new springs while I was airing up the rear tires and looked at my flat ass springs.

Should I request a half inch higher spring for the driver side?

@Tundra234 how close are your sway bar links to the leaf pack? Does your retainer bolt hit the link?

I don't think it's close at all but I'll look after this headache goes away. I have the TRD.

I would be willing to bet it’s the leaf springs themselves. I have deavers and they pop when i first move from a light or the driveway. It seems to me that the coating they use is a little sticky. I solved it for about 8 months by separating the leaves where the friction pads are and sprayed some dry lube in there. These packs flex and move a lot more than stock. I’ve never heard a set that didn’t make some kind of noise.

Just got my Alcans installed. So far I LOVE them. Rides way better than relying on the airbags.

Lew and his office staff were great to deal with, IMHO.

They ain’t Amazon with instant email, but they always answered questions and gave great advice. Plus you can talk to an actual person on the phone. Try that with a huge company!

2,200 lbs over stock with a one inch lift as I’m carrying a Four Wheel Camper slide in.

U Bolts are torqued to 125 ft lbs

8 leaves. One inch lift built into the springs and one inch lift from the Alcan shackles. Just realized I don’t have a photo since the springs. I’ll post one up.

Have you confirmed the popping is not in the leaves themselves? My deavers pop occasionally. If thats not the case, maybe the metal sleeve in the bushing is moving and popping in the rear shackle or the front hanger.

My local Tundra mechanic said 125 lbs so that’s what we used.

    I’m getting a popping noise as well…

I haven't yet. Mine pops in the mornings backing down the driveway. I had it gone for about a week and then it came back. He said the leaves should not pop.

Happy to say no popcorn here.

I did take the pack apart to add the leaf though... not quite sure how that changed anything.

I have some alcans on order. I will let you knw if mine pop. I can tell you, I wheel with alot of folks and i have yet to hear a set of aftermarket leafs that dont creek or pop lol. most guys give them a squirt with some sort of lube. My popping in my deavers got better as the thick coating they put on wore off some.
