Cruzer's Re-Build for the Rubicon

FYI, I think I hammered out like 10lbs of dirt off your truck, you should have better mpgs now!

 

Well, I done did it. My 37s are still for sale but I pulled that trigger on the BFG KM3 39x13.50r17. Tires don't come in til next week, so gonna do some fender cutting today.

 

Cut the rears. The 37s were snacking away at that bottom corner so 39s will definitely be taking bites at it.

Installed the Skyjacker leaf springs, which are supposed to give me 4-4.5" of lift but it's not high enough to get the rake I want Hopefully some CB +3 shackles will correct it. The stupid block is gone, the ride is nice and soft. Gonna hit up Hollister on Thursday to test the flex on these leaf springs and see how the 39s do (get them tomorrow, install on Wednesday).

 

Awesome build for some serious wheelin and carnage. 40's gonna look good!

 

Thanks! Only going 39s though cuz I found out 40s will cost a lot more to make it fit.

 

I know of some reasonably priced carbon bedsides and fenders.

Tomorrow. I think the tires will sit just below the UCA based on what I saw with the 39s next to the front wheel.

Forgot to mention, since I deleted the rear seats, I was able to fit all 4 tires in the back - now that's what I call leg room.

 

If I had a good spot to store 'em I'd pull my rear seats too.

Thanks! Still got a bunch of things to do but not enough time. At the end of the month I'll be going back to Moab, then Sand Hollow, and then the Rubicon in June.

 

Looking forward to a Rubicon report. It was a tight squeeze in my 5th Gen 4Runner, i used every piece of armor and almost blew out an entire front fender.
