I had to notch the drivers side on my Victory4x4 skid because it was flush against the gas tank and I'm sure it would have rubbed a hole eventually..... just FYI in case I'm not the only one that had one this tight! I still like the skid and agree that it's super beefy.

It's not the best pics because I just took them, but you can get the idea.

I cut the smallest amount possible till it was no longer touching. I might have just had a bad one, but wanted other people to know

I'm planning to paint the new skids white so it'll be a while before I install it - I should've gotten the bare metal version but didn't think about it at the time. I'm free this Friday (between late morning to 2) I'm cool with dropping off the RCI - it's hard hiding 2 large ass skids from the gf. Text me, let me know.

Try hiding a large dent on the passenger side of the vehicle from the wife! For someone that doesn't notice things, that sure caught her attention.

Funny you mention that cuz I know exactly how you feel. Let's just say Tree 1 Truck 0. Well more like Tree 5 Truck 0. I've got gouges around the truck. I was lucky enough to find a white door at a junkyard the next morning and swap out the door before the gf noticed. There's body damage but I was like "oh that old thing..." and changed the subject

How much room do you have on the opposite side (closest to the drive shaft)? I was watching Victory4x4's install video. The mounts where you had to drill into the frame, is it possible that yours is further in than it should be?

At this point, anything is possible. I drilled it just a little larger than the bolts so I would have "adjustment" room and no matter which side I slid it to, it would touch the fuel tank. It's probably an hour/ hour and a half job and I spent 6 hours on it. Looking at the videos and other people's installs I'm sure that mine was a fluke and I did what I could to keep from sending it back and going through all the waiting again.

    :annoyed:
Yesterday I was under the truck and noticed that my passenger side CV axle housing had these grooves in it because it was touching this bolt. I thought to myself either the crossmember is bent or the front diff has somehow moved closer.
    upload_2021-1-8_12-50-47.jpg

So I took off both front wheels to do a closer inspection and found that the rear of the front diff crossmember, on the driver side (I have a BDS suspension where the stock crossmembers were cut in order to install the front and rear BDS dropped crossmembers) has a crack where one of the front diff mounts is bolted onto. I notified my local shop. BDS should replace the cracked crossmember - I just wonder if they will cover the labor cost to swap it out. :fingerscrossed:

oof. Getting some axle wrap on that front diff.

Maybe time to buy a welder. 2nd/3rd gen tundras are heavy pigs though. Those sliders and bumpers are going to bend if you're hitting them hard enough.

All the cool kids have body damage! :benchpress:

Oh hell yeah! Just picked up my new TrailToys.net high clearance bumper at a nearby FedEx freight. Now to hide it from the incoming storm (and gf :D) and throw away the evidence. May have to wait until next week to paint and install.

    More to Come ...

Curious how this will look. I thought that rear bumper was fit for the old bed of the 2013 not the new beds. Post pictures when installed please good sir. Really curious of the fitment.

Yeah it's for gen2 but once that rear body panel is cut gen2 & 3 should be the same. Nathan, the owner of TrailToys, is eager to find out as well. This storm looks like it'll clear out by next week so I should be posting up the install, hopefully, soon after.
