Cruise Control

The cruise control on my 2000 Tundra has stopped working. Any suggestions?

What have you checked so far? Fuses? Google search seems to indicated there is a brake control switch. Do you have a brake light out? Apparently that is a common cause.

"A shorted tail light will prevent the cruise control from operating so check the bulbs are working correctly. Also you should check to be sure the brake switch works properly. There are two sets of contacts. Check them both. You can unplug the electrical connector and use an ohm meter. Both sets should change states when pressed and released."

Does the cruise light illuminate when you turn it on?

 

No it doesn't.

 

Does your horn work?

If it doesn't your clockspring is probably the issue.

 

Just to be sure. I believe the CC only works over 25 mph.

Check fuses also
