A.R.E offers a "compression gasket" option with some of their shells.

A temporary solution I've seen is to inflate a bicycle inner-tube between the cab and topper.
Admittedly, I've only seen it done on DC's where the tube went completely around the sliding window, but I imagine something similar could be worked out as a temporary solution for the power window as well. You would have to glue more than 1 inner-tube together, but it might work.

If you run a boot, get the 3M clear film to put on the cab where the boot seats. I had one in the 80’s, and if you don’t run the film your paint will get rubbed off from boot vibration.

So I actually took this approach and used two fat tire bike tubes and gorilla glue. I need to make it a bit smaller circumference but it works better than foam. And I am very happy with it.

Yes, gorilla glue. let sit for 24hr+. doesn't take much pressure for a good seal. held up on my last camping trip in 90+ weather.

After a 1000 mile trip with the foam tubes I think Im ready to try this approach. Are they still holding air for you? I was thinking about using vulcanizing cement.

Sorry for the delay, finally some sunshine, not too cold in H-Town, the accordion boot was purchased 1-18-21, from Mediatunes Inc., google search, located in California, I’ll try to answer any, and all questions

The boot is not on the painted area of the truck, it is attached to the lip of the rear window, I used pliers to go completely around to make sure the seal was tight, and so far no issues.

@trucknut, yes I can, but the seal is complete, so no need to put my window up, the boot attaches to the lip on the Camper, and with the flexibility of the boot, no problem’s to report.

At the bottom of the window, I manipulated, the boot, used some sealant, and we were good to go.

It was the ultra wide Item #544, 12 foot long, it gave me plenty of maneuverability, to keep it off the painted area of the truck, and the lip of the camper, I did some cutting, and was still able to get a overlap.

Do you think the Extra wide would work? Looks like its all bunched up in your picture.

You have to decide yourself, mines is bunched up, that’s the manipulation, it’s wide enough, but you have to get it to curve, following the contour of the window, but being attached to the lip of the camper, camper window, is small than the truck window.

@thedonn, it is a Leer 100XQ, it was ordered, and not purchased, so I stopped in to order, and received a nice deal, and it was installed 3hrs later.

It is working very well. Fill it with N2 if you can.
