new items for the recovery kit...

things that have been added. kinetic energy rope (7/8"x30'), shorty strap (2" and 3" in addition to 3" i already had), hitch shackle mount, standard duty 10" soft shackle (2x), extreme duty soft shackle (20"), reference material for recovery/winching. i call those 'oh shit' manuals and i got in the habit of carrying them when i was a dive master/instructor. no matter how much you train, there's always a tendency to forget stuff when things really go sideways.

i might swap out my current flat link line shackle with a flat link e. the e has a bigger opening which would allow a double loop on the extreme duty soft shackle.

It’s been a while that I’ve been here. Good to hear that you took a break from the day job man. Also I’m happy you got the studio full time now.

That’s good recovery gear something I really need to look for the build lol... Good stuff homie, keep it up!

    Hey Sean,
Quick question. Did you run the negative from the MPPT all the way up to the starter battery/engine compartment or just go to a body ground somewhere on the truck and save some wire. Trying to figure out the best solution.

    Thanks in advance!

well, first off, i've done all this work myself. if i fat fingered something, that's totally on me and i would never try to squeeze a warranty claim out of something like that. i've also assumed that with all the work i've done, there would never be a warranty anyway.

i've never had an issue with toyotacare. i used it for all my general service at the dealer from 15k miles to 45k. from here on out, i'll just be making a mess in the driveway...

o i'm sure. i was curious about the dealership claiming something is out of warranty even though you didn't touch that component.

nah. that hasn't ever happened but again, i've never tried something fixed under warranty. very little has gone wrong with the truck.

thanks. I didn't want to go modding my truck and the entire warranty goes up in smoke.

Loving this truck. Have a 2017 MGM CM myself, so I'm dreaming.
