If the frame is bad, I vote engine swapping the v8 into your other tundra first.

Remember the dealers want to do the frame due to the money involved and the techs get paid good too.
I've dealt with 2 frame replacements on 1st gens at this specific dealer. They hit certain areas of the spare tire crossmember with a hammer and see if they can make a hole of a certain size. I didn't think my truck was that bad but it qualified. My FIL's truck was done at this dealer too.
    Hoping for the best.

I tend to be pretty good a small talk. How do you think @Tundra2 puts up with me? In all honestly I didn’t think I really needed to be present other than another driver but I’ll do whatever I need to do to help Noah out. I just don’t know much about trucks atm but I really am hoping to learn.

If you end up having to sell it, I agree with the others about cleaning it. But to me, this means waxing it and bringing the paint back. People will understand the bed being well used. I would try to make the body look newer and the interior spotless.

$150 later... I hope to be able to fix some fuckups made by the previous guy.

Hoping to get radio trim installed today, and bed half ass painted.

Both will help resale if that's the course of action and make it look slightly better for dealership.

Other than the electrical tape that doesn't look too bad. At least the amps already been bypassed.
Good luck with what looks like every single clip being broke on the HVAC/radio bezel.

Is that cutout necessary for the radio to fit or what?

I'm gonna make a scrap yard run next week sometime. I'll see if the two parts tundras are still there.

Honestly, if the bezel goes back on ok I wouldn't worry about it. It's a 20 year old farm truck with almost 300K miles. I doubt a potential buyer will even notice that at first and if they do, they won't care. Make the truck look nice and people aren't going to pick it apart.

Well, here's everything that happened today.

Got pissed off at the radio
    20210827_070252.jpg

Got pissed off at the radio bezel
    20210827_073845.jpg

and then was slightly less pissed off at the rednecks.
    20210827_074208.jpg

Also, warshed, and dried the bed best I could. Sprayed with three Rustoleum rattle cans. Still shitty, but less.

On my first engine swap i used a come-along and a tree. But dont swap in a 2uz. Thats alot of work to end up with a regular truck.

sirfives swap of the day is a carbed, ohv, ford racing 302.

Cool as that may be, I've got to admire the work (love) involved in keeping it in the Toyota family. 1uz would be cool too. They make about the same power as a 2uz but are lighter because aluminum vs cast iron

Yup, that's the plan then. You and @TundraGirl2 take your 2 trucks down to @FirstGenVol, and bring @jpink with you. Then, the 4 of y'all can do the swap. I don't see how that could go wrong in any way.
