If it's like the Sequoia, I couldn't replace the bracket but I could pry it open and just replace the filter.
Made a stupid big mess like @bmf4069 but I got it done.
I'll show you mine if you show me yours.

I have a feeling I'm missing something. I take it the fuel filter isn't in a convenient location on these trucks, like bolted to the inside of an open section of framerail?

How often would you guys replace that fuel filter? Mine has 35,000 miles on it.

I replaced my factory filter @ 130k miles. Zero issues, just preventive maintenance.

From my picture above it's pretty convenient to get to on the Sequoia. Having a boxed frame, it's a little different than the Tundra but I think the filter bracket mounting might be the same.

It's very easy to get to but I think the hard lines are a bitch to work with. I had the shop replace mine right after I bought in in 2016 so I didn't have to deal with it.

That wouldn't be to bad as it has a little flex to it.

It's not hard to get to, it's just that it's hard piped in so while you're trying to get it out you're also trying not to kink the pipe. All this while it's dumping gas all over you.

I'm not sure how many mine had, but like NW said it's just peace of mind.

    Smart man.

The Tundra doesn't have the flex line on the left?
I threw a hose clamp around the plastic connector for good measure.

I mean, doesn't the fuel pump also have a basic screen style filter on it, so the actual fuel filter is already more peace-of-mind and in-case-of-massive-fail type of situation?

My filter looks to be original. I really should swap it out, but I know those lines are going to fail before the fitting breaks loose.... arrgh..

Get a little Kroil or PB on the threads a few days prior. Then swap it out when you have a spare vehicle home. :D just in case

Replaced mine, cause, I like to replace stuff and think that it's all fresh and new and makes my truck last longer. Had zero appreciable effect, but I don't buy from crappy gas stations. It may have lasted forever. I didnt think it was that hard to change. Had all the tools ready, nitrile gloves, oil change pan below it. Did it Nascar style to minimize fuel loss. Finished the job before my cigarette burnt out. Kidding I don't smoke, but I like to take chances. Kidding again, I mean you just read about me swapping out a perfectly good fuel filter!!!

If you guys manage to find one in the ATL area with under 250k that's in pretty good shape and under $5k-6k, holler at me! Friend of mine is looking for one to haul grain to/from his brewery and as an emergency 2nd vehicle.

The shit-rolet was a lost cause man.
    20210919_100206.jpg

I can say this about it. Like ump-teen deer couldn't do it in, and a blown up differential did. Too much other shit to replace to make it road worthy. All the rotors, and Pads. Probably calipers too. Too much monies for something not worth it.
    20210919_073139.jpg

We slapped the junkyard axle in, and decided to scrap it out. Along with the mercury tracer in the back yard, and the 80's model slide in camper. Should be big changes soon. I'll hold pops to that.

The tent of pain however has a new patient.
    20210919_100243.jpg

It's had something in it since I bought it back in December of 2020.

Parts from McGeorge are supposed to be here today. Time for a long, hot shower and then beddy bye. Up since 1:30 pm yesterday. Currently 10:12 am as of this post.
