If it's happening with one model, it's assuredly happening with another...

If it's profitable. A counterfeiter will make fakes of whatever sells. They are making fakes of the Bilstein model shock in the example I posted. So they are most likely making fakes of the other popular Bilstein shocks.

True that! I've abandoned Amazon for this purchase. I've found them at Shock Surplus for ~ $30 more, so I'll just buy them there.

If you leave them in your cart for a bit or put in your email, you'll probably get a coupon. They're a little heavy on the advertising lol

edit: found a code $10 off code that works, SHOCKO1001

I would’ve gone Autoanything again with one of their many coupons. At least they’re an authorized dealer so the manufacturer warranty is in effect.

I don’t care for their email only customer support though.

I'd be curious if ANY company above the home business level is actually more concerned with their supply chain, than their profits....or ANY factor but profits.

Not that it excuses them....but I'm not sure they are setting the bar any lower than anyone else.

Well there are a ton of companies that don't sell counterfeit products so that argument is tough to believe.

If an entity like Summit Racing and even my LAPS national chain can manage, I think ol' Jeff's people at scAmazon can manage, don't you?

We're at an unfortunate place when we expect individuals to be accountable, but don't give a flying feck about megacorporations, or any businesses for that matter, period.

When you don't hold every individual and business equally accountable, bad shit happens.

Well, I'd say Amazons supply chain is several orders of magnitude more complex than any other business on earth.

And on average, I've had a lot more canceled orders, lost in transit, wrong orders delivered etc from small businesses.....the smaller, the worse they seem at supply chains, probably because they have less leverage when it comes to space on shipping containers etc.

No argument there. But that is the nature of the world. The main reason to become rich and powerful is to be free of accountability. I imagine no one would even bother to build a company like amazon if they had to be just as accountable as you and me.

After lurking around ShockSurplus and checking out the Bilsteins, they finally sent me a $25 off coupon (on April 1st, no less)...So I ordered the set for $344!
