Now I've got a.h. envy! My bosch are only 4.0 for the fat pack and 2.0 for the slim pack. But only take 15 to 20 minutes to charge.

Nothing wrong with the 4.0 batts. I only have up to the 5.0, they work great. The 9.0's now have rapid charge technology, but still take awhile and are pricey. 175-200 per batt. Yikes !

$200 is way to much for a bat. Even $100 is a lot. I've been using cpo outlets to get my cordless stuff. They have some great deals for whichever brand you're after.

Growing set of milwakee m18 fuel and m12 fuel. Never has any issues with any of it. The fuel 3/8s Impact I have would take off tundra steelies lugs when I was working at a dealership. Awesome gun. The m12s I have are what I use mostly for construction. Able to keep a pilot bit on drill and a Phillips #2 on the impact works amazing

I think I paid $250 for the Bosch even impact, drill, two batteries and a charger. Got a free circular to.

I use a 18v dewalt 3/8 drive cordless impact at work. I use it almost everyday for the last 5 years and it's still running strong.

Wow, surprising results in this thread. I've been making a living with my tools for more than 30 yrs. I've got a really complete cabinet shop, from a collection of antique planes, hand made Japanese chisels and pull saws, to 2 cabinet saws, a 52" drum sander and a 16" 5hp 3ph Jointer..... Furniture/cabinets are one part, then I have everything for general construction, dump trailer, back hoe, skill saws, sawzalls, concrete chain saw, etc. That said, I've tried all the brands... I find certain companies make certain things really well and other things not so much. Best sawzall: Porter Cable, Best Jig Saw: Bosch, Best corded drill: Milwaukee (all of 'em, Hole Shooter, Angle and Hole Hog but, I won't even pick up a Hole Hog anymore too painful/dangerous) Best cordless drill: Makita, Best 1/4" impact: Makita, I'll stop here but the list goes on..... I've seen some companies get profit hungry over the years and cut corners, like Porter Cable with their switches, De Walt and their NiCad batteries. Stanley hand planes are a great example of this. A Stanley Bed Rock hand plane from the 1920's will outperform any Stanley plane made today.
OK sorry, I get a little opinionated about tools.

Amen to the quality of the tools from 100 years ago. I've some that were my grand dad's, then my dad's, now I've got them. Pliers that have been used so much that the name is worn off. But they put perform anything made today. Your absolutely right each company having certain tools that are best in class and some that suck ass. But with cordless you kind of have to choose a brand and stick with it. Or spend a fortune and haul way to much gear around.

Have you been bitten by the festool bug? That Rotex sander paired with their sysvac = dustless sanding. The domino is a game changer as well. Otherwise most of the rest of their suite is o.k. And overpriced. I'd love a 8 inch joiner let alone a 16.

Question for all the tool and tundra lovers. Which do you love the most, your truck or the tools you use to make it even badder? I absolutely love the truck, but the tools make the payment for it...

Festool = Great sander/dust system, wish I had it. I don't use biscuits or dowels though. Just mortise/tenon or splines.

all my cordless stuff is Milwaukee. I first started using them doing HVAC installs with my dad about 5 years ago, and those things have taken quite the beating. I can't begin to tell you how many man lifts they have fallen out of and they still work great. I ended up buying the M-18 Fuel Brushless ones for myself, and wouldn't trade them for anything else.

I've had a 18v dewalt cordless drill for years and it's been the best tool investment I've made.

Recently got the bug for a cordless impact for smaller jobs like my trd exhaust so I went with the dewalt 3/8 impact that used batteries I already have. Very happy with it so far. A cool tool to have. Anxious to find another job to use it on now.

The tools never leave the truck and the truck never leaves the tools. I see the truck like a really big tool I use the most.

The new Kobalt line is nice, all brushless and the extra battery's are a third of the price of the others. I have a lot of the Dewalt stuff and am happy with it but will replace with Kobalt. Another tip, be careful when buying the too good to be true deals around Christmas time with the yellow brand. It is owned by black and decker who also owns porter cable

I was in home depot last week and I was in need of an air stapler (forgot mine at the house) besides showing me the air staplers the guy there was nice enough to explain every single brand and who's connected to what. This was around closing time and it was quite the conversation so I looked into it and found that.
