Computer savvy people. Couple simple questions....

I can't remember specifics but someone had a bad batch of capacitors, ABIT or ASUS were the mother boards I was using back then. I had one system returned and when I opened it up there was soot everywhere inside. I mean it literally BLEW! I had OEM warranty on it so I got a replacement for them and all was well.

 

My stint with Geek Squad back in 2010 taught me to check caps first whenever someone brought their shitbox in. It was amazing how many brands had that issue, though it pretty much always happened outside of the warranty period. Seemed like the better brands had the sealed-top caps like OP's board has, but it's tough to say if those actually blew less or if the tops just hid the damage better...
