A couple different brands. This worked well but due to the ribs on tailgate I notched each section so it payed flat. Used a heat gun to warm tailgate up and ensure glue was setting. A 3.5 width might be perfect.

"MSU" lol I'm using this if you don't mind. I work with a couple of Master's degrees recipients and their lack of intelligence is astounding.

Not so fast on getting OEM sprayed bed-liner, I have a few issues after 2.5 months, maybe from living up north in the cold (expansion/contraction) or just a failure. Perhaps it's normal that it almost feels like a thick wrap, but I would of thought it'd stick to the bed/tailgate better. Have a look and suggest how to fix.

The OEM spray-in liner has a full warranty. If you're worried about it delaminating in spots...just point it out to your dealer at your next service interval.

I have a 13 year old Tacoma with an unsprayed composite bed and it is still in great shape. I have carried some gravel and such but lately it has a bed rug and tonneau cover to mostly carry tools for the farm and luggage on road trips. I honestly don't understand why anyone would spray a liner in one of these... might as well get a truck with a metal bed if you want to do that.

Good point, at 3300 miles now so it shouldn't be to long from now.

Didn’t have it in my ‘18 Tacoma - loved the composite liner + bed mat when needed. Spray on liner came mandatory from the dealer, it sucks and is pointless. Now I have no option to slide anything around without scratching it.

Can you repair a factory spray on bed liner? I have seen rhino line peel up.

As the spray-in liner is listed as a “port installed option”, anyone have luck removing it from their build?

Pretty much all of the 2025 TRD Pros I’ve seen online come listed with the spray liner, that I do not want.

I’m adding a few options, including a factory lift, so I’m hoping it’s no big deal to get the spray-in liner cancelled.

Mine was peeling badly from various dings from stuff like 2x4s (the horror!), I talked to the dealer and they said they’d fix it under warranty. I asked them to just remove it, and they didn’t give me any guarantees over the phone, so I delayed taking it in. Well over the summer after some hot days, it started peeling even more, so I just started ripping it all out which was surprisingly easy, and it looked brand new underneath, ha. A few scratches on the edge where it looks like they buffed the composite to make the liner stick, but overall I’m pretty pleased with how it came out. Left it on the “Tundra” sign because it seemed like a hassle, and I think it actually looks pretty cool.

Rubber Bed Mat - It lifts your cargo off the bed and any water that leaks in, like if you have a tonneau cover. Water goes under the load and out the back keeping your cargo dry.
Spray on sand paper - Load up some dirt and then try and clean that out. Will take at least a pressure washer to get it clean again. Makes mounting anything to the bed a PITA.
The composite bed alone is super tough. 9 yrs on Tacoma and it was like the day it was bought.

I could take it or leave it. I would prefer a bed mat due to the fact that mine has several cuts in it from heavy, sharp objects and the texture is rough enough that I’ve had bags of top soil and mulch tear when trying to slide them out, presenting the issue of then trying to clean it. As stated above, it takes a pressure washer to get any sort of dirt or oil out of the pores of the liner.

I was to get a 2025 SR, my dealer told me that I cannot delete the spray in bed liner even if i request it before the truck is delivered. No way around it now from Gulf States Toyota from what I understand. I'm not happy about it and may not buy the truck as a result. Don't want to deal with the inevitable peeling issue.

Here is hoping that the peeling issue described by CarlsSenior303 above is NOT something all of us with OEM spray-in bed liner are going to “inevitably” experience.

You would hear about it a lot more if that was the case.

While people may or may not like it, this one is a huge upgrade to the plastic liner that was in my 2002 Tacoma. That thing was a piece of crap, outright dangerous when rain, snow, ice, slickest thing I have ever tried to walk on………peeling up on the corners………..naw, this one is better in my opinion.

IDK why anyone would spray a composite bed. I had a 2009 Tacoma for 15 years and the composite bed was fine. This seems to me like some dealer came up with the concept to make a little extra $. IOW, build it and they will come. Needed or not.

It is definitely a cash grab. I was told the same thing about not being able to delete an OPTION on the vehicle. If it's truly an OPTION, why isn't it optional?

The selling dealer even said that they would "remove the liner for me when it arrives at the dealership, because Toyota will not allow them to remove it from the order", which leads to another question. Are these liners done at the factory when the unit is built, or is it a "port-installed" option. If the latter, there is no good reason that it cannot be cancelled from the build.

Yea, honestly the peeling was not a huge issue and would have been an easy fix, I just didn’t want it in there for the same reason others state here - there is zero point in the nice composite bed. I had the same composite on my 18 Tacoma, and it was rock solid for 6 years. I got the same BS from my dealer that it was a non-optional option, and the short amount of time I had it in there was awful. Would damage anything that slides across it, impossible to get dirt and sand out (at times from said damaged items) especially if you have a topper. So I just took advantage of the peeling by ripping it all out and I still can’t believe how easily it came off. Almost got the entire floor out in 1 piece.
