That last was almost right. It's got to be grits not hash browns.

Heinz guy here but French's (the mustard company) had a ketchup for a year or so that was better than Heinz. Can't find it anymore though...

I'm not for, or against that.
It sounds better than any color gravy on fries!

Did somebody bring up Waffle House?!!
I did it once when I was counting carbs. Eating ketchup with my fries would have put me over my daily limit. Mustard was a freebie. It was one of those "Eureka" moments.

Lot's of French's ketchup here in Canuckistan. When Heinz moved their factory out of Ontario and back to the States there was this sudden shadow of patriotism and a bunch of Canucks switched to French's. Not sure why they'd want an inferior product...

    I stick to Heinz.

I just added "French's Ketchup" onto the "Pro's" list for invading Canada. I like Heinz, but French's was pretty damn good and I liked that they weren't using high fructose corn syrup. I have to hunt through the 50 varieties of Heinz to find the bottle that doesn't use that shit.

It might be an American thing - the normal Heinz has high fructose corn syrup. Here's a list:

This thread is whacked. I think I’ve discovered there are people that don’t like gravy. Hmm.

I can understand the butthurt over a new Tundra having Ford-like teething issues, even though it doesn’t surprise me to be perfectly honest. Crap happens. It’s what happens after that makes the big difference IMHO.

But to hate gravy?? And no, ketchup does not make everything better, even fake murder scenes.

Heinz closed their Canadian plants so I only buy French's now. Some people say French's tastes better but it all tastes the same to me. French's is also cheaper, which is my primary concern at the grocery store.

I had a bad experience at Boy Scout camp with buffalo gravy and I haven't been able to look at gravy the same since. Whole troops were out with the Hershey Squirts and Toxic Burps. The only gravy I'll eat, is gravy that I've made myself.

Cheaper is good. I stopped buying Ribeyes because I refuse to pay $40 for 2lbs of something that is gonna end up in the toilet at the end of the day anyway. I haven't bought a brisket since the price went up a few dollars/pound. It's all ground beef and flank steaks for a while.

My brother got a cow from a local rancher butchered and split it up between us, our parents and a friend of ours. I think it worked out to about $5.50 a pound but you have to have lots of space in the freezer.

This is a picture my friend took after delivery.

    You need this..

Maybe you can find it cheaper.
    We buy in local stores.
We use it so fast we don't refrigerate it.
Amazon.com: El Fenix Salsa Picante, 16 oz : Grocery & Gourmet Food

As far as fries go, maybe a tiny bit of ketchup, but usually mustard or occasionally mayo.
Most of the time I eat them plain with salt and pepper.
