So I filled up my 3 tank Tuesday and went on a road trip, I averaged 16.9-18.2 mpg between 70-85mph with 4:30's

I'm a pretty happy camper so I have to ask, what are peoples point of reference when complaining about mileage ? I came from a gasser F250 that got 12 mpg no matter what it was doing

I find stickin' it at 70 gets best mileage, at lease for my truck. Road trip back and forth to DC I was hovering just under 20mpg

I get anywhere from 12 city to 18ish highway. Still better than the 5.4 I get in my Pete:)

The mileage of the Tundra isn't my issue. I average about 15.8 all around with the 5.7. Hell, I bought the truck because it was a monster and I love Toyota's.

My biggest issue is the fuel range. I've been highly considering putting the TransferFlow 46 gallon replacement fuel tank in my truck.

I have a stock sequoia and came back from my trip, 261 miles on 17.7 gallons of gasoline. 14-15 mpg, driving mostly highway, speeds were were 60-70 mph. Not the best, I've been seeing my mileage going down. Best I had was around 17-18 mpg averaging 70-75 mph. I just hit 100k miles on the odometer and fluids were all changed within the last 10k miles.

15 mpg is my average. As long as you keep the rpms below 2k, you'll be fine. Doing 70 on flat with no cross wind I can to 18.

Do I want better mileage yes, better range yes. But I stuck with Toyota due to proven reliability and low cost of upkeep and maintenance.

I have a 97 4Runner limited with the 3.4 v6, I average about 15mpg in that and I average about 14mpg in my 2012 DC 4x4. I really don’t see it as bad. I actually think that it’s great that I can get almost the same mpg in a full sized truck compared to a midsized sport utility. No complaints here.

I had a 2018 TRDOR Taco before I traded it in on a 2019 Tundra TRD Pro. The Pro averages about 2 mpg less than the Taco, but I have much more power and interior room and I don’t curse Toyota every time I drive it.

I get ~13mpg with a supercharger cruise controlled at 90mph in Utah with 35s and locked in 6th gear. It's better than my FJ40 so I can't complain lol

I get the equivalent of 14-16 mpg in the city. A recent road trip had me at 19-20 mpg on the highway.

I'm sitting at 6-7 kilometers per litre on my Canadian instrument panel for city driving, lots of stopping and starting and waiting at lights

You gotta pay for quality and power.

I got 18.8 on a 200 mile mostly hwy drive @ 65-80 with a decent tailwind. Same drive with a 30 mph headwind barely hit 16. Pickups are like rolling bricks and wind can make a huge difference. I make this drive about 6 times a year and the 18.8 is by far the best I have gotten.

    Excellent question!

For those that whine about the MPGs your Tundra delivers, what were you expecting?

I installed the Pedal Commander and Drive like I stole it every time. I didn’t buy a truck for better gas mileage. Those that want way better gas mileage better put your down payment on the Tesla.

I get 15 around town and 13 on the highway if I'm running 80 or so. The highway estimations are BS if you actually live where the speed limit is 75 and can climb to 85 on a toll road. I filled up and drove the toll road at about 85 and sometimes 90 for about a 80 mile stretch and was down to 12.3 running cruise. When I got off verified by topping off. These trucks push a lot of wind. I don't play around accelerating

Don't mention "tesla".... you'll summon the badger troll and this thread will derail...

According to the computer I get an average around 15 MPG, but the computer penalized you for any warm up time too. I focus on loving the truck and I just watch the fuel gauge and fill the tank as needed. I agree with OP, the mileage was not a surprise, and with the 38 gallon tank I can't complain about range either. I love this truck, and I needed the best reliability I could get.

I get 15-16 mixed which was better than I expected but I wouldn't change a thing. I bought this truck to tow and the 4.30s are great

If you’re getting that with 4.30’s you should be smiling. I bought my 19’ Tundra to tow my 18’ trailer & 4 seater turbo RZR. Avg 10-12 mpg towing. 16-17 mpg highway 14-15 around town. I’m a happy camper.
