    I am very familiar with that area. It was my old hunting area before the majority became private property about 15 years ago. There was a pretty cool trail off of Yankee Doodle Lake that would have been fun, but I believe that is now closed off. If you don't mind hiking, I know where there is an old airplane wreck off trail from Forest Lakes. The old train trestles hanging on to the cliff side past the needle eye is pretty cool too. Walking across them with a massive drop off, missing planks, and rotting wood was pretty sketchy. Apex to the South of Moffat would be a cool drive too.

    Hard to tell. It is old and in many pieces. Its wings are severed, and there is still a large section of the main part of the plane still intact. It was a small plane if I remember right. I came across another one at the bottom of Berthoud Pass just north of the Henderson Mine. There was not many large pieces left at that crash sight. I think I have pictures somewhere from the Forest lakes crash site. I will search for them this weekend

    Apex is my primary stomping grounds. Lots of hunters up there now for the early hunts. Kingston Peak trail should be great. Especially since Labor Day is over.

    Rollins Pass was the old train route. Moffat Rd is the actual train route. Been a few bad train wrecks up there before the route was abandoned when the Moffat tunnel was completed that runs under the continental divide. Crazy stuff.
