I'm considering that. Maybe if I just build a permanent heavy form underneath it and mix small batches of concrete I can get away with redoing it without being obvious, like with a concrete truck blocking the road.

That would be awesome if you want to give me a hand! With or without a permit, help is always appreciated. I'll let you know. I'll be getting going on it soon, waiting for my tax return. I'm going to call a couple surveyors and check the cost to try and finish it legally before I risk getting in trouble.

We just switched to Comcast, we were paying to much for direct. We'll be back when the good price goes away. Still have AT&T for our phones, couldn't get a deal for both.

    DISH???? That sounds yucky.

Unfortunately, there's not much i can do any longer now that AT&T consumed us. I'll tell you how to play the game if you want to make a move. Call DIRECTV and tell them you have a DISH and you really want to switch but they are giving you a great deal. You really want a 2 year contract to stay the same and you need the "new guy deal." Then, when they attempt to up your contract after a year you threaten to leave. They will basically bow down and give you all kinds of free stuff. The best i can do is provide you with my ID number and hopefully get you a referral deal if you decide to move that direction. Also, depending on what cell service you have they can bundle a spectacular deal right now.

DISH is the same if you want to use that same approach to get your bill down. I see it every day. They bow down to cancellation threats

read what i just told Brian about the bundle deals. If any of you guys are on the fence and want some advice on how to work the system check with me before buying into what they are saying. I can also get on the phone and negotiate too. The bundle deal right now is tremendous

    Yuck.

We have Xfinity. We added their alarm (dumped ADT who was too far behind on technology) faster internet, one large (?) DVR and two mini boxes (full access to review and record shows) and it lowered our monthly bill lol. Also, they gave us ALL movie channels free.

I had them install a hard line in the basement and 2 additional wifi connections...for what? $0,00. We pay $6/month additional for free tech support- that includes service calls.

BOOM! That's the deal. It takes negotiating, which most people don't understand is a possibility. You just need to know what you're talking about and what you want

What's cool about Xfinity is that all services run on the same lines including alarm. That technology is moving quick. Big things coming down the line in the industry, fiber optics running all signal to the street and then a spectacular wireless signal that will be projected all over the house with very little interference that is coded to specific homes. The hard lines are quickly becoming dinosaurs...stay tuned

I tried that, got like $20 off, then it went back up. Saw the ad for the bundle deal. But because we weren't new the answer was sorry. Long time customers don't seem as important as bringing in New customers. The guys that I talked to were trying to pitch the being able to watch tv on my phone from anywhere with no data charges. Don't care about that, meant nothing. One of them was shocked, as if everyone watches tv on their phones now. I'm not 12. I've found that the only way to get a descent price is to switch as soon as the contract is up.

agreed. i don't watch anything on my phone. i use my phone to talk and get on TUNDRAS.COM. The trick is to cancel and open a new account in a different name, like your wife. Bottom line...it's just not the same with TV or phones or internet. It's all so damn expensive that it almost makes you want not to have it. I'm fortunate and work for the company that provides it all so i have no expense with any of it except my kids all "NEED" phones, as they say. ANy internet overages i have to pay for, which is a ton due to Netflix. Where i live there are no hard lines. Everything is satellite or microwave towers providing internet or television. I work for AT&T and have to use Verizon phone because AT&T signal doesn't exist here.

Xfinity has issues to. Biggest problem with satellite was having to clean the snow off the dish. Otherwise we liked it better than Comcast.

The installer never mentioned that. In fact he told me that the dish had a special coating that prevents loss of signal due to snow. Hey, your dish is still on My roof. Should I get rid of it or leave it till I switch back. Will it be obsolete by then?
