I'm not angry at all. Just stating my opinion. I'll sleep easy tonight. As far as studying the mind of a killer??? The asswhipe coward that killed everyone at the Century Theater here in Aurora in 2012, near me, was being studied/analyzed. Shit, he drew stick family pics of him shooting them. Hello........the problem is lack of locking these nut cases up instead of putting them on meds and let them back into society.

 

I think this very tragedy effects the mental health of everyone that has knowledge of it. I know it makes me sad. It’s far more reaching than the just the poor souls that were directly involved.
Stay positive. Hug your loved ones and be grateful for everyday.

 

Bullets and guns will not be the way to a peaceful world. I guarantee this. Love hope and grace will potentially gain us independence. But it seems unlikely in today’s climate of polarized politics and me vs you mentality. I’m not a hippie or maybe I’m becoming one, but we should wait and deliberate before we act broadly. We should act swiftly in the defense of safety. Live with grace and hope. Stay positive and draw wisdom from past experiences. Love each other understand with grace kindness and empathy before we ever judge anyone but ourselves.
And put your damn phones away if there’s an emergency.

 

You are angry my friend. We don’t have the money to lock everyone up. I work in health care and if we locked everyone up there’d be no hospital beds left for you and I if we are actually sick. No political party sees it fit to spend money on locking “nut cases” up. I deal with it on the ground level.

I do agree if there are red flags we need to act ASAP no doubt. But a knee jerk reaction is never the right reaction. They really need to put someone on over watch that’s not a doc but a good regular person with foresight
And experience who has studied many killers minds and met them in person. Think this could help us identify the real problem. But right now we have lots of political people that have never met a real issue. And then there’s the bean counters that really call the shots. Don’t get me going bro.
I have been beaten the F up by a 70yo in the hospital setting who had severely molested a female RN on night shift days before. He suffered no consequences and the Docs said that’s just him and that’s ok.he likes to grab and gets violent on a dime. I put my foot down and had to sit through meetings with management about it because I was causing a problem. The girl who was assaulted couldn’t even look me in the eye months later to talk about it. I’m there I see evil. He’s been molesting people his whole adult life and always deemed incompetent by the docs. Can’t give him meds because his heart is weak. He’s living in a SNF now where he’ll soon jump the fence again. Who’s gonna listen?
I’m glad I at least controlled him but it took 5 of us including two burly men. He almost made it to a pediatric cancer unit and nobody still cared.
Gave him a super low dose of an antipsychotic because his heart might not take it. Docs don’t get it. Well they get the $$$ but they don’t get the real issueZ

I agree with everything you've said but this. I agree that the world needs more grace but in my experience an armed society is a polite society. Had one person been armed and willing to face the shooter in any of these situations more lives would have been saved. If these shooters new they would encounter resistance in those form of the damage they were trying to inflict they would surrender and they usually do, just like in this instance. Once swat arrived the shooter stripped naked and asked for his mother. These are the men we are raising as a society and as a 32 year old millennial who served his country and provides for his family it saddens me to the core. Mental illness or no this situation could have been avoided or at the very least mitigated if someone would have done something. Gun laws only restrict the rights of citizens willing to abide by them. Guns and bullets can provide peace if they are wielded by benevolent benefactors. That said everyone is entitled to their own opinions and idea and the freedom to express them. That is what is great about this country and it's people. Blessings to the families that lost loved ones including the shooters family. For even though one of theirs caused this tragedy they too will have to live with the wide swath of a mark this will make for the rest of their lives.

 

News said today that he just bought that gun 6 days ago.....seems to be a trend.

Trust me If I was there and I could make a difference I would. Not trying to say someone shouldn’t have stopped the guy. Unfortunately I’m not educated on this situation. And I agree there’s a major issue with just letting people get to this point. Sometimes you just have to fight. Sorry if I came across wrongX see that I don’t know the local situation.

Nope. But, in a panic you better be able to calm down and place that accurate shot.
Most people would be lucky to hit any shot on target much less a head in that situation IMO.

On a side note.. why is this not national news? And what are the gun and blade laws there? My gun or blade are probably not legal there while I camp. So I’ll be defenseless but I have a mean form tackle?

 

I think I’m the hippie you think you hate but would enjoy a good conversation with. There are no real hippies In SC so I got you there. Strange you don’t like me due to a couple of forum posts. I think you’d like me if I was ever the nurse of you or your family. I’m a good dood who’s good at my job and just trying to survive daily. You just don’t like my perspective or personality on the internet.
Currently cooking meat and listening to indie country before my shift tomorrow. And I’ve learned from indie country... write what you feel and who you are. That’s about as hippy as I get. Hope for peace in Colorado and all of america. I want this place to be good for all

True...very true. I don't know wtf is wrong with people. Miami spring break is a total disaster. So far 1 rape last weekend, then another the other night where the girl was drugged, assaulted, and died, and now I was just reading where some jackass tried to get the crowd to riot. Alot of vandalism as well.

The had the names and ages of all victims posted earlier. They ranged from 20 or 23 as the youngest and 65 was the oldest.
