hey neighbors....im thinking about stuffing 40's under my tundra...anyone know who can help install a body lift for me? I have an 8" readylift already and could use a few more inches (couldn't we all?). I think @Toytec Lifts have started installing stuff but not sure about body lifts...

lucky pie/sweet cow combo is in louisville. there is a lucky pie downtown, 16th and wazee. the deli, rosenberg's, which is out at stanley just started doing pizza at the beginning of the year. it's pretty good pie and the only pizza offered at stanley.

all the restaurants at stanley have been doing curbside pickup.

Kuul. I thought it was a pizza place but maybe a deli. It was across the street. I want to go back and check that area out again.

I just checked. I Gates Deli & Grog I think. Online menu looks great. A few people were lined up on the sidewalk and ordering at an open window facing the street.

Took the kids and the wife up camping on some blm in park county. Made sure to take all the social distance precautions and not stop for anything on the way up or back. Nice little spot we found and didn't see another soul the whole weekend. Just needed to get out of house. Two months is a long time for us, especially with a 3 and 5 year old and the wife working from home.IMG_20200517_090432.jpg

I need to go as well. Hoping to find some nice dispersed camping spots with nobody around for miles

I’m sure it’s possible, but I can tell you everyone has the same idea with everything closed still.

I heard that USFS is lifting the forest service regional closure on developed sites on Wednesday and it’ll be up to individual forests/ranger districts to open in coordination with the counties.

Things should start to loosen up here pretty quickly for camping.

Just an FYI to anyone. The local govt can't control your access to federal land as they have no jurisdiction. But both teller and park counties had fire bans in effect even though it was greener than green in the high country when were were there. The only conclusion I could come to was this was the best way the local govt could dissuade folks from camping and using federal land within their means and power. We had no campfire but still had a blast just nice to get out of the house.

I suspect that the fire ban is to protect fire fighters. Sometimes they need to work in quite close proximity to one another. Maybe one of the members here who is also a fire fighter can elaborate.

Fortunately my piece of CO is open. Spiffed up my Tunny to get quite dirty. Heading down Thursday, leaving a day earlier. Got to get the hell away. No vacation for 2 years.Lots of ribeyes and ribs to be consumed. Dug up a bunch of worms. Nicely stocked reservoir nearby. Ready to split now but a major external audit at work this week. :frusty:. I'm gone Thursday whether the audit is over or not!

Some fire bans have been in place in several areas for over 2 years, prior to Covid. Too many dip shits still think an open fire to make s'mores in summer is cool. My property in Costilla County has been on a fire ban for quite some time. Pinion pines are full of sap. A seriously bad situation if an illegal camp fire sets everything off. Who needs a freaking campfire anyways when it's warm? SMH.

I do. What’s camping without a camp fire at night? (safely of course).

People feel that their entitled to have a campfire when camping, they don't even consider otherwise...

Check local regulations concerning open campfires. Otherwise have your checkbook ready. Last thing I want is to have someone burn my trees down. Even a "safe" fire pit can start shit...if local regs say it's legit, then by all means do it. Common sense though is a virtue.

You could always do a gas fire. They make some pretty cool ones that should be fire ban safe

I have access to some great property up above Central City. Great property. I have had access now since 2006. My friend who gave me the access said, "You can come up to my property anytime you want, but no camp fires... ever, otherwise I'll revoke your permission to access my property." Done with this topic.
