To be fair, if you count the national titles from current ACC members and co-members (Notre Dame) there would be more than 10 between FSU, Miami, and ND alone. That still doesn't stack up to the 25 produced by the SEC in that time, but the SEC was also formed 20 years before the ACC, and much of the schools in the SEC have been around longer than schools in the ACC.

For example, the best team in the SEC historically (Alabama) started fielding teams in the early 1900's. The best team in the ACC historically (FSU) didn't field an actual football team until the 50's and even then it was at a huge disadvantage due to being an all-girls school prior to this. FSU football didn't really pick up as a program until the late 80's when Bowden brought them onto the national scene by scheduling games with big name schools (Nebraska, etc.), and didn't even join a major conference until 1991.

So decades of program development and an earlier conference configuration plays a lot into all of the SEC hype nowadays, but either way isn't it a little silly to brag or root for a conference instead of your own team? You don't get a trophy for just being in the conference. Sure its normal to cheer for another team (if it isn't a rival) when your team is out of playoff contention, but to brag about another schools accomplishments just seems a little odd.

Haha! That's a good one, although our network will be here soon! Btw it's not exactly a good thing if your teams games are on SEC network instead of ESPN lol. Usually means they aren't worth a damn or they're playing a nobody and ESPN doesn't think they will get good ratings.

I just want to say 1 thing what team currently had the most consecutive winning seasons that would be Florida state with 40. They will break the record of 49. What team currently has throat consecutive bowl appearances that would be Florida state with 34 they will tie the record of 35 this year let that simmer with y'all for a minute

Over the last 30 years there isn't a program close to as dominant as Florida State. Only Bama and Miami have more titles in that time, but FSU has more more total wins, conference championships, major bowl wins, major bowl appearances, total bowl wins, top 5 finishes, top 10 finishes, ranked seasons, consensus all-americans, and heisman winners than ANY other school in that time frame (yes they lead the NCAA in every single one of those categories for the last 30 years). We are also the only team in CFB to not have a single losing season in that time-span. We trail only Miami in first round draft picks during that span as well. This is amazing considering FSU was garbage for almost 1/3rd of this time-frame (the late Bowden years aka the Lost Decade), and was not nationally relevant prior to this time-frame.

There's you guys history lesson for today.

I feel like we have been having some good banter around here, but then Lee Corso I mean @ToyotaTundraMike came in and has been dropping some knowledge bombs on us turning this into a school lesson.

That one still hurts! Atleast we bounced back the next year! Still can't believe they robbed Peter Warrick of the heisman...that guy was something else to watch.

For the guys who never saw Warrick. Name of the video says it all.

You are partly right Wilbur, but at the end of the day, isn't it the goal to win college footballs ultimate crown (National Championship) I believe Alabama leads that category. Just sayin. The Noles have always been a great team........but o_O

I've said that for years. They are always king of the mountain. But it won't be forever. Not saying we will knock them off, but someone will. They are not a #1 program anymore.

Let's see what reaction that comment gets...
