Just pulled the trigger on these. Will update after they're installed and I get some drive time on them.

@ToyTec Lifts I currently have a 8" ready lift but looking to install some coilovers on the front. you think these would these be a good fit? also, what all is needed if I do install the COs, anything additional that I would need to purchase (UCAs im guessing)?

We have not done any testing on 8'' kits at this time, so as of right now I would say they are not going to work...

    Thanks

im running stock shocks and coils in the front.. ready lift "lifts" everything up so I literally had to replace nothing up front. stock everything on the front. that's why I was curious if a coil swap would be that simple. makes sense to me, but Im no mechanic

I would think the UCAs would be the only thing...

Yeah I don't know how those big Lifts work. I'm not cutting my frame. Didnt mean to sound like a SA. Probably sounded that way. If your not using xtra travel CO now they may work. R u using aftermarket UCA'S.

naa I enjoy the SA, all in good fun haha but nope, literally everything is stock. all stock UCAs, coils ect. That's why im thinkin a coil swap wouldnt be all that difficult. the only shocks I replaced was rear and I have the Bilstein 5100s that my guy gave me for free.

    See fine print
Did you measure before and after so you can report how much lift it netted you? Looks good though.

OBX looks good. What kind of ball joint does JBA USE?

I already had a leveling spacer on the front of the truck from the previous owner. This was a 3" leveling spacer. I can only tell you that the before and after ride height is the same. I do not have measurements from stock height or without the leveling spacer. I have a 1" block in the rear of the truck.

JBA uses the K6292 ball joint. There are a few variations of the ball joint from different manufacturers now, including Moog. The original K6292 was a GM Performance Racing product and is now used on there 3/4 and 1 ton trucks. It has a 90 degree range of motion. Replacements are available at any parts store.

I have a Toytec lift on my 2012 4Runner (which I love), so adding this setup to my 2015 Tundra was a no-brainer. I installed these (along with a set of Toytec shackles and SPC UCA's) on the Tundra about 3 weeks ago. Just like with the 4Runner, the most significant difference (other than the 3" ride height increase) is the much improved handling. My biggest complaint with the stock suspension on my 2015 CrewMax, was the numb, "floating" sensation...much like a 1970's Cadillac...and the extreme nose-dive during hard braking. While it was fine during straight-line interstate/hwy driving, it did not give me much confidence in turns. I live in the mountains of NC. We have LOTS of curvy roads here, and navigating them with a soft-floating suspension was no fun. The Toytec kit firmed up the ride (in a good way), restored my ability to take turns at something faster than 80-year-old Grandma pace and significantly reduced brake-dive. The ride is still comfortable and compliant on the highway as well. I haven't had an opportunity to take the Tundra off-road yet, but if it behaves like my Toytec-equipped 4runner does, it will do fantastic.

Hardly drove it. Seems a little stiffer but nice. The shop that did install did not have time to bring it to the place that does there alignments so I went to toyota and it ended up being worse than before the coilovers were installed. I am so pissed. Pulled to the right on the way home. I don't want to screw my tires up so I'm probably not going to drive it too much till I can get the proper alignment. On top of this I have the Adjustable SPC Uca's as well. I swear they don't know what the hell they were doing. The manager came out and said we normally don't deal with trucks that have lifts on them if I would have known I wouldn't have taken it. So he gave me $20 off for a shit job. I did the Uca's, coilovers, rear shackles and boss rear shock set up. I will post more pictures tomorrow of it and info when I can

How it sits now..... Before and after shot. It's all out of whack though it's bothering me I don't want to drive this and screw my tires up. It's Saturday and I don't know where to take it to try and get another alignment done

@gan I had my first opportunity to take it off road this morning on my way home from getting coffee. This is a route that I have taken in the past with my spacer lift and stock UCA setup. It is an amazing difference. It's a pretty impressive improvement over what I had. The initial plushness is really noticeable, they really take the edge off sharp hits. The dirt road I was on is littered with large potholes, water breaks, and plenty of bumps. My old setup was like riding a rigid frame go-cart compared to this. I know there are way higher end options out there, but with my truck only seeing mild off-road there was just no reason to spend the extra money. I'm very happy with how it sits now.

@JerseyTundra1260 that was one of my biggest concerns about going with the SPC's, that and the proprietary ball joint. You need an alignment tech that actually understands what each adjustment does on the front end. I would talk to some other local guys/girls with lifted trucks, in the gas station, in a Chili's parking lot, and ask them where they had their truck aligned. I'm lucky in that I get to take our company trucks to different places for repair, so I have a good idea of which shop specializes in certain areas. My experience with name brand tire shops or dealers is not good. A tech needs to have the ability to interpret what their actions and each spin of the wrench is doing, not just do what their tech software is telling them to do. Any place that claims they don't work on lifted vehicles either has an alignment rack that physically won't fit them, or they only have techs that punch your VIN into a computer and follow steps 1-12 on how to align your truck. DISCLAIMER: There are good dealership techs out there, I'm just not willing to seek them out or pay the dealer premium rate.

Thanks for the review, I have a spacer lift now and want to upgrade it. I miss how my 4 runner trd pro would just eat up the bumps like nothing. I don't do a lot of off roading just some roads kinda like you described and the beach.

@gan my buddy has a 4runner with reservoir Kings on all 4 corners, this is not that. The 4runner feels like driving on an invisible cloud over everything. His total setup was also north of $4k. These are great for the price, it's still a big heavy truck with a longer wheel base. I'm just trying to keep the expectations real.

The other tech spec that really sold me on these was the progressive valving vs. digressive valving. I think this is what attributes to that initial inch or so of plushness.

I'm not expecting the tundra to ride like my old 4 runner just want something smoother off-road, I don't spend A lot if time off-road and my truck is parked most of the week, since I have a work truck. I was looking at the boss kit or bilstien 5160,6112 combo even bought spacer from coachbuilder for them. This kit has me interested as it seems would improve my ride on and off road
