Right before I drink my coffee I turn my hat around backwards.

When doing any work, the minute it gets difficult, the hat goes around backwards.

    Lmao!

The wife usually does the coffee buying but we typically have Camerons Columbian. I really need to get more Black Rifle. We have a Cuisinart coffe maker, a Kuireg, an electric percolator and my favorite, an old aluminum stove top percolator. She laughs at me when I take the old pot outside and make coffee on the fire pit lol. The Cuisinart is nice, has a replaceable, internal filter and I use filtered water from the fridge.
The best cup of coffee I've ever had was cowboy coffee, made with a scoop of snow and boiled on my pocket rocket stove at about 9800 feet in CO, during elk season a few years ago. I'm sure that it was more the surroundings, but damn that was a good cup of coffee!

Are you suggesting it's not the norm to have a cold brew coffee writeup on a truck site?! :burp:

Breville Oracle. Expensive, yes. But it's kept my wife out of Starbucks everyday for the past 2 years. Pretty sure it's paid for itself. ;) We use a local coffee shops weekly roast so we always have fresh beans.

Simpleton here...Dunkin Donuts original blend K Cups. I’m the only coffee drinker in the house, so brewing by the pot is a waste. I do add half and half as a creamer.

No I'm suggesting that the posts are more like "First, I travel to Columbia to pick up my local organic coffee beans. After that, I fly to Europe to get my custom made sliver-plated french press. After picking this item up, I travel to Seattle to press my coffee and laugh at all the losers drinking Starbucks.

    1. Peets, Dunkin Donuts and good old Eight O clock coffee from the grocery store. Whole beans for all.
2 We have a Hamilton Beach that had great reviews and we are on our second one.
    3. We store our coffee in an aie tight container from Bed Bath and Beyond.
    4. We brew a full pot in the morning but we use K cups for a quick cup or two.
    5. We grind our own using an Capresso Burr grinder. It works great.

Nothing too fancy for us. We usually just buy a bag of Peet's whole bean Big Bang (medium roast) then grind it and brew it in a French press. I just drink mine black.

    COFFEE CRACK
I drink my coffee black but the wife uses cream in hers. After reading the label on a can of Carnation cream she saw how much crap and chemicals there are and she decided to make her own cream. She mixes a can or Sweet and condensed milk and pours half and half into a shake bottle and mixes it up. It's fattening as all hell but she loves it and she has all of her friend hooked on it now. We call it her Coffee Crack.

I'm solo when it comes to coffee in our house so i do pour-overs pretty much exclusively.

Everything into a 16 oz insulated travel cup. Caffeinated in the morning and a decaf when I get home from work. Usually TJ's dark roast but I will sometimes get something else, as long as it's dark roast. I also drink my coffee black, nothing added.

    Here's my setup

Coffee: I vacuum bag half of it when I bring it home.

My wife suprised me with a Chemix Ottomatic awhile back, which I LOVED, but it started to get thermal cracks around the heating element. Found out that it was actually pretty common but for that kind of money I think it's unacceptable so back it went. I miss it though.

I love coffee...and haven't found much coffee I do not like. The Mrs. and I have two cups in the morning and I have a coffee in the afternoon. Often times my afternoon coffee is a Juan Valdez instant coffee. Quite good for a quick cup.
We us a simple drip maker for the morning joe with almost any ground. My favorite is Cafe' Du Monde from New Orleans. It has chickory in it and really imparts a peppery note to the coffee. My least favorite is Gevalia coffee. Very unpleasant aftertaste in each sip.

The best cup of coffee I've ever had?
Years ago, I toured an international shipping vessel for work. There were about 8 of us that took the tour and it was of a ship from possibly Croatia, possibly Slovenia. The ships Captain offered us coffee and I am very glad I accepted. That was more than 10 years ago and I still compare every cup of new coffee to that one. I remember seeing the huge burlap sack of coffee beans with large foreign language printed on it in the galley.
The whole experience was pretty cool!

    Pretty simple for me.

i have a gaggia classic that over the years, I've probably replaced most of the parts either as some have broken, or to upgrade. I'm 'fancy', so I make/drink either espresso or cappuccinos all through the morning - helps me concentrate and forget about ADD for a while.

After far too long without, i bought a matching ceramic burr grinder to go with it. Only then did I start to get super consistent results that keeps me from going to a coffee shop so long as i'm not working remote.

Luckily, I'm sentimentally attached to this machine, it stops me from upgrading to something stupid fancy. Brand of coffee changes if i forget to buy in time... i switch between different types of lavazza and local stuff

Oh I forgot about cold brew. I make it all summer and its so good. I think I use about a cup and a half of Folgers coffee and dump it in my coffee pot and full the line to 10 cups let it sit in fridge overnight, then strain into a few mason jars. Good stuff. Low acid content too which i like. I highly recommend cold brewing this way.

I use Bard Cameroon (dark roast) beans
We have a steel burr coffee grinder
    We brew using a chemex

I love coffee. A bit of a coffee snob. I store my bags in an airtight container. I start off brewing with lukewarm water and work up to boiling. I’ve read it can release more oils and nutrients from the grounds. I’ve not found sound evidence to back that up, only heard from a doctor who studies biochemistry, physiology, and nutrition.

I’d love some recommendations for dark roast!

I’m not even close to being a fancy coffee drinker. I just use Maxwell House and keep it in the blue tub it comes in. I mix it up, either drink it black or vanilla creamer. Brewed in a regular drip machine. But one thing for certain. I have to have my coffee in morning before work. There’s no way around it.
If I have to get it on the road, Dunkin is my go to. Not a Starbucks fan.

Chemex makes amazing coffee. It’s a little time consuming as you don’t flip a switch but the quality to me is far superior

I use a coffee kettle for boiling and pouring water. rinse the filter before you put the grounds in. I just place a filter in the chemex, rinse all over it, then dump that water (just lift a corner of the filter, don’t pull the whole filter out). That ride any potential paper taste

Its the Areo press for me. My wife and I buy fresh roasted coffee from a local roaster we love. We don’t yet have a burr grinder just a wirly blade grinder. I grind about 1.2oz of beans for my cup, then press it through the Areo press. I add a splash of heavy wipping cream and a splash of hot water. Delicous.

If anyone really enjoys a fine cup of bean juice I'm telling you now.. modern times beer.

    https://www.moderntimesmerch.com/collections/coffee/coffee

Everything is unreal I've tried alot of other roasters and it's really hard for me to wander from modern times. I grind it fresh every time I want a cup

Either use a chem x, press or I have a zojirushi mega drip
