I think maybe part of the reason it is uncomfortable to me is arm rests / lack of. There is no position I can find to prop arm on door sill by window or on arm rest itself and still hold the steering wheel without bending sideways. The center console seems too low as well. I can lay my hands on lap and hold bottom of wheel but that sucks too. I dunno.

I have been driving for 40 years and the cloth seats in my Tundra are among the best seats I have ever had. I drove my truck 8 hours home the day I bought it and was so impressed with the comfort and support of the seats.

Same. I love how much wider they are than the competitors. Very comfortable.

Fine tuning the lumbar switch helps. Cloth water staining bugged me too, comfort not bad but Katzkins feel like thick couch leather. Added padding and PU leather to the center console too.

I can't seem to get comfortable in these seats either. They bother my lower back no matter what I have tried so far. First vehicle I've owned that I've had this problem.

How much did you all pay for your katzkins? I've contacted my local guy and haven't received my quote yet

I have a 14 with wet okele covers over the cloth seats. I find them uncomfortable compared to our other car, which is a 17 Nissan Armada with leather. However, the Tundra seats are about equal to my friend’s new f150 leather seats.

The armada has the most comfortable seats I have ever sat in, better than Audi Q7, BMW X5, Jaguar Fpace, and Porsche Macan (a bunch of guys I work with buy expensive German cars).

I’m always sitting on a towel anyways. But I got some cheap covers at Costco for the front and a dog cover for the back that is waterproof. No complaints either way. Spend some money on leather when you buy the truck or spend some money on some decent seat covers to your liking.

I do understand this complaint. On long trips I have a folded towel that I stick on the door armrest and another one for my elbow on the center console. Actually I have a towel folded in half on the center consul at all times just because I don’t like the feel of the vinyl on my elbow.

I'm fine on short trips/daily driving but longer trips, I feel the same. They aren't the most comfortable seats out there.

The Volvo XC90 is at the top of my seat comfort list. Just outstanding, even after a 4000 mile loop around the USA.

As for the OP, I don't think he even has lumbar adjustment, as my SR loooooongbed does not either.

I never even thought of that. I have a split bench up front - I didn't even consider getting the bucket seats. One of my favorite things in a truck is being able to have my lady sit right next to me if I want.

Maybe the cloth bucket seats aren't that comfy? I love the split bench in my truck.

Yeah, if I'm going to do that Katskins it will be with the perforated leather and heated and cooling options but that's some big $ to buy and have installed

It's really not as bad as you think for katskinz. If you check Ebay regularly you can get the whole set for 350-650 and if you check your Ebay email they send out 20% off coupons once a month..

You missed some key (and expensive) parts of my post that will add to the cost considerably... "perforated leather"+"heated and cooling options"+"have installed"

"Comfort" is a very personal thing. I've got the Limited leather now and drove it all day during a vacation drive, almost 1300 comfortable miles in a week and a day, but many here say the Limited leather is hard and unforgiving. I did get front seat waterproof covers from Amazon to prevent sweat problems with the leather (covers over headrest and only front of leather). I'm only 5'1" so find the center console height to be about right as an arm rest if needed. My previous Tundra, a 2002 SR5 with split bench front cloth seats, was also very comfortable although I wasn't good with using the center console fold-down to rest my arm on, it felt too low. But nothing hurt on a long drive. The OP mentioned resting his arm on either side being problematic; someone I know with an 06 SR5 bought an arm rest that fits on the door- too high for me but he likes it. Maybe something like that could help the OP. We are all different sizes and shapes, with a different opinion on what is comfortable and what is not. Car companies can't please everyone, sometimes we just have to adapt what's available or find something that helps. I used a 'BackJoy' lower back support thing on my old Tundra when my back needed a bit more support, something like that could help if the seats just aren't providing enough support. Haven't needed it yet on the new Tundra, as the seats are firmer to begin with.

16’ tss sr5 with cloth seats and I love them. I hate the fake leather crap so I never get a car with them. Comfy and I’ve had it since 16. No complaints and I’ve been on 14 hour road trips towing

No problem with my cloth seats so far- I’m a cloth lover, too. The color could be a little darker and not water spot so easy- but I found if it’s just a spot from rain or water, it will go away after jumping in and out for a day or two.

100k + on my 2016, never had an issue with the seats on some long hauls and drives of 2-4 hours a day are normal. Cloth seats here, back seat stays folded up 99% of the time and fronts have covers but have dog drool and GSD hair all over them.
