Thank you, Lance, but you needed very little help finding lanes for that big ship! :hattip:

Stock Tundra with stock suspension and tires = very capable. You and your crew are all very good drivers. It was awesome sharing the day and trails with you guys!

Wow that looks tough......is there a way around those tough areas. For 2wd?

Yes u can go around any of the offshoots. You don’t have to do the hard stuff if you don’t want to.

The main (graded, fire access) road is completely 2WD friendly. The videos show off-shoots that are optional and typically parallel the main road. Cleghorn is an awesome playground because a varied collection of driver skill and truck mods can all play along the same route, as we did.

Only two of us did that tight canyon, all the other trucks at the bottom took the parallel road and parked to watch and help spot. That particular bit had two obstacles, only one really shown in these videos; I’m hoping someone else posts additional video that shows the upper obstacle and what our tires were doing on the lower rock obstacle. There was so little room that spotting was mainly about telling us when we were about to drop; in my case, you can see the rear tire isn’t turning when the steepness and weight of the truck finally pulled me over.

When @Marty McFly referred to @Challenger1 as crazy, I’m pretty sure he meant, ‘for his willingness to risk body damage’ on a brand new truck.

We did 2 other off-shoots with similar high walls— not as narrow, but which were very rutted and only high clearance, extended travel suspension, and most with lockers, made it through. Those were So Fun!!, but had no viewing areas along the top rims. The only way to get video would be to mount cameras to the trucks (shoukda), or go through to set up cameras, then go back through to get filmed. SO FUN!!

** We had a 2WD Taco with an experienced driver that made most of the off-shoots. The locker probably was necessary though.

@nishibot Steve, can you update the first post to list everyone in attendance?

Maybe @tundra_20 can help with his buddies... “JV” and “Oliver”, share their Tacoma World names if appropriate.

And @Challenger1’s Raptor buddy, Jimmy, was a good guy... even though he was allergic to pinstripes.

Did I miss anyone? Ha! Actually, yeah, I did: we had a series of random vehicles join in for portions of our trip. It was pretty funny: they’d ask if they could join in, get on our comms, and eventually opt out— were polite and admiring about it, but expressed they thought we were a bit crazy, rocking the full-sized Tundras where and how we did.

Get a first gen to play with. Not worrying about paint and body damage is very freeing.

    Recap and kudos to Andy:
The funniest thing I saw/ heard all day was Andy’s story about coming down this chute: ‘forget pinstripes, I had bushes scratching my face...’ Bahahahahaha! I wished I had THAT on video.

‘Gram is starving, waiting on any of us.

fwiw, @Marty McFly is used to being filmed— doesn’t spend much time behind the camera.

FWIW, even though I thought I wouldn’t be able to make it, I was that vote for 10am, and later changed it to 9:30 when I saw everyone else voting 9.

Anyway, I was pretty happy to come off that freeway ramp as you all passed in front of me, and get folded in.
