Yeah, I’ll find out mom/tues if I reach a solution with jba. Kind of bummed about it but I really do want long tube headers, they are the biggest power adders this side of a supercharger.

Welp the jba headers have been shipped back, they were lower quality than I anticipated, but the good news is that I learned that there’s extra steps taken with the ceramic coated jba header that are not done with the plain stainless, I’ll give it another go if the price is right.

Already dirty since it’s a work truck.

I found some center caps for it and they should be shipping out soon.

Also going to the local track tonight, just to get a baseline of the truck.

So I had a great time at the track last night, I made about 5 passes with different nannies on and off just to try and find the fastest combination.

My fastest time was a 14.4 which is respectable for a stock truck. I ran 14.5 3 times and I spun the tires a quarter way down the track once lol.

    Truck was very consistent.

Conditions: 90 degrees out, 40 ft above sea level, minor wind, had 3/4 tank of gas.

Time slip: I lined up against my friends 2012 5.3 extended cab Silverado with long tube headers, exhaust, intake, and a tune. I was on the left.

Nice! What ended up being the fastest combination for electronics on/off?

My fastest time was with everything off except the electronic lsd.

The time I spun down the track was with everything off with tow/haul on. This set up caused power to go to one wheel since we technically have a open diff back there. I even feathered it but I wasnt going anywhere. This is where a auburn lsd would shine.

The electronic lsd works but it does it in a parasitic way. It pulses the brakes of the wheel that’s spinning to send power to the one that has grip, where as a mechanical lsd like the auburn would send more power to the wheel with more grip from get go and adjusts accordingly without the use of the brakes.

I knew this going it but it pretty cool to see how it works first hand at the track.

You can get the aftermarket grill in glossy black, on your rcsb it would look bad ass!!

So I was in Baja for most of last week, sure wish I had my pro out there, anywho, got home to a couple boxes.

    A surprise box:
    CB0FA59C-8ECB-4D26-A53E-E7ECA486900C.jpg

And my center caps to complete the wheels:1E8EC4CC-B9F1-4E65-ACC7-ED9E5D70BE53.jpgDF770B62-5D9A-4AD6-B0B3-CF514B337A7F.jpg C13379BC-CDFA-412C-829D-D4160BC81174.jpg

And a ass shot just because:
    02BBD0E9-F664-4A9C-A0D3-8FBDAFA3DE1A.jpg

Side note: filled her up finally today. I hand canculate my mpg’s every time I fill her up. She got 13.5 mpg this week with the track passes included in that tank, the week before she got 16.1 lol those passes made a difference.

Well did my first “performance” mod today.

Received a dry afe filter that I bought for 57 bucks.313150EC-6595-4FB5-9336-AB4E689E1E7C.jpg

Took out my paper filter, it wasn’t too dirty.6F3C2E33-474B-44BE-9005-7DB73F361FFE.jpg

Decided to remove the secondary filter, I forgot the purpose of it so if someone would share their wisdom what would be great.619415DF-0422-499A-9E15-10F36F4A91F5.jpg

It’s held in with plastic tabs, a flat head does the trick of popping them off, it has a little thickness to it, it’s not paper thin.
    48DB294F-2830-45ED-AEAA-268E459E4347.jpg

    End result
    8C6CC8AA-0898-45F3-B7F9-0CC0E73FFC9A.jpg

This would have been a great complimentary mod with header or exhaust but I just couldn’t wait and did it.

Drove the truck around for a bit after, there’s more intake sound, it developed a slight whistle at certain rpm that I enjoy, since that whistle wasn’t present before the change thats a sign that there’s definitely more air flow going thru the intake. As a matter of fact now that I think about it, results are about the same as when I added a trd intake to my pro. All for a fraction of the price.

    Remember that mystery box?

    E5999EB1-84FE-4D3F-AE81-161B0241B101.jpg

I had time today to throw it on, easy peasy with Toyota’s instructions that come with it.

    AE2E2FC8-5ECF-4823-8EB0-CDD3F6804D62.jpg

Little less body roll, little less bed bounce, great upgrade for the price, I wonder if it will help put power down better at the track, that would be a plus.

So I haven’t done much to the rcsb mainly because of life and because of some thieves breaking two windows on my pro.

I’m getting all that sorted out with my insurance.

A significant mod is coming for the rcsb but in the meantime, I found some newer taillights locally for dirt cheap. A guy had just upgraded his tails and one of mine had a broken tab so it was a no brainer.

    23CD3F9B-1FFF-48C7-A811-5AE4042DFF2F.jpg 8C563909-4D0F-4D15-B19A-DBEDEB80E13D.jpg 120FC840-6496-4EA9-BCA0-EC67BE039A8F.jpg

I love upgrading within the oem parts bin, I like the squared look better than the rounded. Now to find a wrecked 2018 sequoia for matching headlights lol.

Well Saturday night was a fun night, started the install at 7 and finished at 10, everything went pretty smoothly except the top nut on the rear shocks were seized on both! A lot of cursing happened in that one waisted hour, those little suckers just didn’t want to let go.

Anyway, other than that it was smooth sailing, trd instructions are top notch like always providing pictures and torque specs.

    Old fronts

    In with the new

Eye candy, too bad they will almost never be seen lol

You can see how flatter the rear spring are, no wonder payload rating drops.

Rear leafs, shocks, and bump stops done.

While I was at it added a little wheel security.

Don’t mind the dirtyness, just won’t stop raining this week. I’ll get some better pictures when I clean her up and let the suspension settle.
