need some advice on how to clean the throttle body on my 07 tundra 5.7 with 135,000 miles.been told to use toyota cleaner. been told to spray throttle body butterfly then get someone to cut on ignition and press throttle to open butter fly and housing and clean with a tooth brush, then clean with a rag.sounds reasonably to me. any in put would be helpful, thanks

Never cleaned a Tundra throttle body before but I did on my Silverado. I would suggest removing it so you can clean the whole assembly and not have to worry about using another person. This will also ensure no debris get left in your intake. My silverado it was 4 bolts and it was off. I'm sure the Tundra is similar. And any throttle body cleaner will do.

Don't remove it, there is coolant flowing through it... you'll create a mess. Just remove your intake tube. Don't spray directly onto the thing, spray into a rag and wipe the rag on the tb butterfly. Do this all with the batt dosconnected.
Pusb the Butter fly gently open with one finger and clean inside, both top and bottom. Out everything back together and let the truck idle for a bit. It'll likely relearn idle which could take a few.

yep bank account is running low from it..
Coolant runs though it to keep the tb warm. It has any advantages by doing that.

There is coolant does run through the TB but only a small amount will come out of the 2 lines just have a small rag handy. By removing the throttle body it is much easier to clean on both sides of the butterfly valve and you can inspect the screen that catches any debris that could get past the butterfly
