Ah....the native American pipeline protests lasted for months which is their right to do. I'm only suggesting a short term one week wake up call. We are not in Punjab where there is still to this day a discriminating caste culture where you stay poor and get shat on your whole miserable life. Get real. The lucky upper class caste folks in that culture get to leave. Seriously?

It isn't by any means...People initially said the trucking industry was going to shut down when diesel went to 3.50 4.00 a gallon. No, that was not the case. A man still needs to put food on the table for his family, cost will just be passed on to the consumer, much like corporations don't pay taxes same thing!!!!

In this case, I'm talking about truckers and oil field workers blocking traffic to try to force the government to build the two pipelines that they were already in the process of building...

Thanks for that link. Pipelines are proven to be safer than transporting fuels/oil products on the highway with the average folks trying to get their kids to school and commuting to work. I've driven thru Alberta. Big ass semi's compared to the lower 48. The log trucks I saw up there in BC would be way over our safe limits here. It's all relative to where you are. But...keeping that in mind, fuel also needs to be hauled by truck to remote areas, especially in Canada just like in AK
My thoughts of my experience driving thru Canada were so positive. High fuel taxes but I admire the fact that Canada does try to provide for the ill's of their society. Helping the drug addled, homeless, health care, etc by maximizing their natural resources without breaking the bank. Fuel costs are high there. Those Canadian truckers have plenty of products to deliver in a "Big Country". Your population is growing. They will need those truckers to haul even more dry goods and such for that growing population you have. My 2 cents.

Although it'll take a while, California is a self-correcting mistake. They assume that they can exercise a kind of back-door policy control over the entire nation because of their state's large population. So they create all of these idiotic "feel good" policies that disrupt and complicates their citizens' lives until everyone with any sense leaves the state.

If they keep at it they'll reduce their population to the point that they lose their national policy influence. Of course, California politicians won't realize that until it's too late so the rest of us get to laugh at the ridiculous virtue signaling from all those little city council and state government Napoleons while they defeat themselves.
