Got this for my birthday and it was excellent. Leathery, earthy, oily and super smooth. I paired it with 3 fingers of Makers Mark 101, it was wonderful.

It was a Padron 1964 Anniversary Series Maduro.

That's a pretty serious cigar. Full body. Definitely need a whiskey with that.

Luckily, I had a birthday Ribeye that took away any nicotine buzz I would have had.

My belief is not necessarily that Cubans are not what they used to be. But that we have learned what gave Cuba the ability to grow amazing tobacco for cigars and spread that knowledge around many places in the world. Nicaraguan tobacco is definitely my favorite. AJ Fernandez is a major manufacturer of cigars out of Nicaragua and encompasses a majority of cigars in my humidors.

My apology, as I started another cigar thread in the outdoor area. Before I realized there was one already. Let's chat up cigars!

Drew Estate’s Undercrown Shade is my go to and frankly only ones I buy now. Usually have one every Sunday night on a walk around my neighborhood to relax for the start of a new week (didn’t tonight but did have one yesterday). Kinda my little ritual all year long. Been doing it for a few years now.

These are my favorite, only about 10-15 smoke and very smooth. Love it with some whisky.

Nice. Tonight was an AJ Fernandez version of the H Upman. An amazing smoke with a Woodford Old Fashion I make. Its a twist on an old fashion that will knock your socks off. If anyone would like my recipe and try it themself, it can be added.

Here is my ingredients list and I highly suggest to follow it to a T. I can guarantee you will not be disappointed!

    Woodford Reserve - Distillers Select
    Martini Rossi Sweet Vermouth
Crown dark pure maple syrup *
    Woodford Reserve Orange Bitters *
    Angostura Aeromatic Bitters *
    Luxardo Maraschino Cherries *

    * = available through Amazon

I make a triple, here are the portions of a single...
    .5 part maple syrup
    1 part sweet vermouth
    3 parts Woodford

My procedure is this as follows,

    Using a 1 1/2oz measure with 3/4oz line, pouring into a small mixer/shaker

    Pour 3/4oz maple syrup
    Pour 1.5oz sweet vermouth
    Pour 4.5oz Woodford
    6 drops of orange bitters
    6 dashes of aeromatic bitters

Shake like crazy (be sure to smile, as you are about to have an amazing drink)

Pour over mix of crushed and 2 or 3 ice cubes

Using a teaspoon, get 2 Luxardo cherries with the spoon almost full of the dark cherry syrup and mix well into the drink glass chilling the drink (I use an insulated Yeti type cup myself to keep it cold and less ice melting).

Now be ready to enjoy and impress your company. I have had absolutely nobody less than amazed with this drink. If you don't like it, call me and I will be right over to drink it for you. LoL

Picked up some cigars when I was in Key West. Couldn't tell you the name of them. They didn't have wrappers or emblems. They were 2 tone. Light green and brown. Pretty cool, and smoked well. Tasted pretty decent. I've tried about a dozen or so different brands. Still very new to cigars but I like them.
