Chrome or plastic front bumper

So someone backed into my drivers side front bumper and bent and scratched the drivers side end.
I have an SR5 with chrome that I had powder coated and then color matched painted.

For replacement can I buy the black plastic and just have that painted?

Is there any structural difference?

 

Sean, the ones I see say textured. Will those finish out smooth after paint?

 

Heard whatever paint shop you use or if self prep you gotta send them down smooth.
