Chrome is for motorcycles and American muscle cars IMO, but a little bit on some trucks looks classy.

Color match makes for a really good appearance and black accents any color.

That, my friend, is a nice looking grill. All of the Tundra's posted here have been very pleasing to the eyes. I, however, follow the old adage that says "If it don't go, chrome it! And if it does go, chrome that too!" or something like that. ;)

Why all the grill changes? Because “kid with headgear” is a lousy look for a truck.

Chrome makes your truck look like a company work truck. I want mine to look like my own personal truck haha. Plus I agree with one of the post, it looks better on those diesel trucks and 2 wheelers

Have no intention of changing mine. Even if it does make it look like a "company work truck" lol.

Nice truck! And I agree about the weather. I’m looking forward to it warming up again. I heard it was sunny for a short while in East TX this afternoon while I was inside working. Hoping for a good weekend of weather ahead.

All chromed out looks great with silver sky and I agree it's not preferable on some colors.

Most of the time, you can actually tell what age bracket someone plays in by if they're a chrome lover or a chrome hater. Some people are followers and some do their own. To me, I never got on the flat or matte black wheels wagon or matte black on anything for that matter. If anything, it was satin or gloss black but only around the windows of the wheels to make the face pop. Flat black reminds me of the young days when people did not have money for a full paint job or they were half way through a body work phase. Or, they drove a Toyota Low Rider hitting switches and doing 3 wheel motion around the mall parking lot. :burnrubber:

I feel the same way with skinny jeans. Pay some celebrities or favorite rapper to wear them and the followers will follow. And what's with the f ing phrase "really, really, really" ? You sound like a studdering retart. Just because the media shows it on TV, it doesn't make it cool. This is just my opinion though.

Almost everyone goes through the chrome phase in their teens with their first car. Then the blackout theme in my twenties with gun metal wheels and blacked out lenses. Now, I'm in my late 30s and I'm in the Refining phase putting all of my experiences together to make what I think is suitable for my palette.

A grill and bumper is supposed to be shiney on a truck. Trucks have grown since the hard body and t100 days so the grill has to be proportion to the truck. Otherwise, you paid over 35k and turned it into a base model.
Now that is what doesn't make sense to me. . Twenty years ago, you only got chrome on the top trim level. If you got a black bumper and grill, you were rolling in the work horse edition. I guess it due to our human nature of wanting what we don't have. Some of us have stronger will than others but yes,
to each their own for sure.

Back in the 60s, when I was a kid (maybe many of you didn't exist back then so missed the childhood influence?) cars had more chrome as you went up from the base model. The 50's cars had fins with thick chrome. That rocketship look. They were fast standing still. I remember my folks 57 Ford, and the 62 Rambler Ambassador station wagon that had the name RAMBLER spelled out across the front grill in chrome, chrome wheel caps, chrome roof rack, chrome around the lights and side windows, chrome strips on the sides. You could not miss the glorious chrome. I loved it and still do.
Ok, so the chrome on the Tundra makes it look like a work truck? To me it harkens to my childhood a little, though I still miss the fins and the 'rockets'...

I've always felt that Toyota considers chrome to be an "upgrade". No, Toyota, no!
The eRock-Approved™ order goes thusly: Untreated > Chrome > Bodymatched

For your color, I would put the chrome accessories back on. Get some bright silver or polished wheels if you ever upgrade.

I see you starting to get drawn into the black hole. :anonymous:

To stay in business, you give what the customer wants. If Toyota went with the SR exterior on the their top trim levels, there would be more angry buyers than there would be satisfied. Going back to the nature of never being satisfied, I'm pretty sure people would do the opposite and change out their boring black for brighter colors.

I think the chrome looks ok on Silver Sky and MGM. But I could not stand it on my Cement. The last exterior chrome is going away this week - rear bumper. And I've already started on de-chroming the interior..I may have a de-chroming addiction now :)

I dont mind the chrome too much, but I dont like a lot of it. I changed out my grill center piece but I wouldve gone with paint matched surround if I couldve afforded it at the time lol

When I was in my 20s and 30s I loved my chrome wheels now I hate them. Apparently the manufacturers think Texans like chrome because the Texas Editions usually have chrome. Personally I think chrome is a south of the border thing. South of the border is where a lot of stolen trucks end up around here so last thing I want is for my truck to be more attractive to the thieves. Not sure they even like Tundras.

At least they are making changes. I don't believe it's all about the millennial attraction. Look how bad that drunk Brian France fucked it up, you can't fix all that in a few months. 2021 is going to bring more schedule change, new car. I'm kinda liking the new schedule, other than moving Daytona. Although, a plate race for the last race to get into the playoffs, could be really good or really bad. I think it will be good. Phoenix is alot better than homestead.
