Here's the deal, everyone pays for their truck and can do what they want with it. As for me I'm good with a little bit of chrome as an accent. Some colors and models look good with it and some don't. You might not like the way mine looks and I'm ok with that. So I don't necessarily hate chrome, just think it belongs in some places and not others.

The only chrome left on mine is the front bumper ends. I replaced the grill, bulge, mirror caps, door handles, and badges within the first week. But, the bumper ties in with the lights and doesn’t bother me. The rear bumper was color matched from factory with BSM/parking sensors

I like chrome but I like painted too. Diversity is needed, otherwise life would be boring. There are few trucks that are exactly like mine, even though my changes were subtle, it made it unique. I always know my truck in a parking lot.

Chrome on a ‘55-‘57 Chevy or hot rod... ok... but not that big fat grille on my 2017 Tundra...

I don't dislike it enough to do anything about it. If I didn't like it that much I wouldn't have bought it. I'm not gonna spend 50k and then start fixing it.

I don’t like chrome on Tundra or any 1/2 ton but for some reasons those heavy duty Fords/Dodge/GMC looks good with cab lights, Dually wheels and touch of chrome.

I remember in the day I had chrome Cragars on my 1980 Chevy stepside and they were the shit then, as they say too each his own!

It’s your truck, do what you want and all the chrome haters can go on hating! Actually I only have chrome end caps left on my truck and I just think I’ll leave them just to annoy the haters, makes me happy that way!

The big ass chrome grille is too much. Toyota finally got smart and offers a model with color matched front like the others. Only problem is I think the Sport option is over priced. I am not going to color match front bumper ends because of rock chips. I saw a used one on dealers lot and the painted ends look like crap after a while.

I guess it’s the truck. I’ve seen a lots of trucks - present company included- go too far with dechroming their trucks then it looks odd.

I have actually begun thinking about removing SOME of the chrome on my truck - not all of it though.

My wifes last vehicle had a chrome grill, well here in CO and all the stones that get kicked up beat the heck out of it. Her grill looked like a pin cushion. Not to mention it started to flake in a few places, this is why I am not a fan of chrome.

I really liked my Tundra CM SR5 with black trim, it grew on me after a while. Then I got a Tundra CM Limited and I like it but I sort of miss the the black trim on the SR5.IMG_4980.jpg IMG_5077.jpg

Paint it and see what the rocks do. Same problem but I guess you can always touch up or repaint. Front of my daughters color matched front end looks like shit too.

Exactly, repaiting paint is easier than trying to paint chrome. Not being snarky.

I don’t mind the chrome on my truck. I do, however, want to get the Pro grill with color matched TOYOTA letters in Silver Sky.
Also waiting for color matched bumper covers.
