Chrome Handles and Tailgate Garnish

2022 Tundra all 4 Chrome door handles and the chrome tailgate garnish, I know someone out there is loving the chrome and like these on their truck. Will fit all models/trims. $350 +Shipping. ORBO (or reasonable best offer).

Was it hard to pull the handles and tailgate handle off and replace?

 

Tailgate was the easiest, even with the spray on bed liner as it doesn't affect the screws.
Handles was fairly easy, but nerve racking when you have to POP things off and back on.
Watched the Taco Tunes you-tube on how to remove the door panels to replace the speaker, then it was a matter of figuring out how to remove the handles.
Door handles were a little tricky.
Front doors had hard plastic shield, where the back doors had sheet of plastic rubber caulked to the steel door.
Handles have a white plastic wish bone latch that needs to be flipped out.
Front doors have an electric connection to be careful of.
Then jerk the handle for it to pop and come out.

I see your chrome pieces, did the replacements come as just the caps like shown above, or the whole door handle assembly?

Hahaha, good one... I saw someone putting chrome letter inserts in tailgate, thought they may want these.

 

Just an FYI...I replaced the bumper arms today and to remove the plastic pins all you need to do it pop the middle up with a small flat head screwdriver. I think I read someone trying to go from under with a pair of plyers.

To replace the tailgate garnish, do you have to remove the tailgate top cap for access? Anyone know?

 

Tailgate garnish is removed through the access panel when tailgate is down. It's about 12 screws. I did not have to take the cap off. The there are 2 nuts on the garnish to remove and a clip on each side of ganish.

You'll definitely want to make sure you have a clip remover, this is a must!

Knowing I would remove all chrome I bought a packet of car panel removal tools! Thanks!!

So basically remove the access panel at the top of the tailgate and there are 2 bolts to remove, then clips?

 

I just went out and counted, there are 16 Torx screws to remove, I did not remove the plastic cap, just the screws and panel.
Open you tailgate like this, remove the 16 screws and panel, you'll see the back of the tailgate handle, it's really easy from there. Assembly in reverse order.
Door handles are more tricky and scary then this.

 

I have spray in liner. Hope it's the same

Did anyone take these off your hands yet lol? I'll have a set like it plus the rear bumper arms to off load. They may collect dust for a little while.

 

I still have them, this was more of a gimmick to see if there was just one person interested in chrome and didn't get it on the trim they ordered.

It looks like the chrome is just a 3M tapped on piece of plastic. If so does anyone think that they could be taken off and a body color matched piece be put on in the chrome pieces place? I've seen decals removed with threded fishing line to cut the 3M tape and then cleaned (for hours) to get off all of the tape. If this possible I would definitely prefer this over taking off the door panel and most likely breaking something with my impatience.
