If the price is closer to the powder coating, then definitely. It’s definitely a hassle with powder coating. The rear caps are a major PITA to get off, and you have to go without bumpers until they are done. Luckily I scored some extra caps for free, so I didn’t have to drive around without bumpers for a week.

Even then, I ended up paying a body shop to swap the rear ones. The front were easy, but I couldn’t get the rear ones off to save my life.

I'd be in for a white set for the rear.

AAANNNNDDDD Here we go! First test covers fitted late last night! Check out the Before/After pictures. From what I've seen and was told, everyone was extremely happy with the fit. Snug to the bumper all the way around and no chrome visible. They have to make some minor tool changes to get ready for more mass manufacturing. They've also begun the tooling for the rear now! Big steps but a lot of work still to go... for other people lol

I'd be interested in this. Front and back bumper as well as grill cover would be awesome! Black all the way.

The fogs don't have to be pulled. The edges of the fog lamp cut-out lay over the fog lamp bezel. It gives it a clean look and will save a ton on the installation time. When we get one in color I will take a close-up. Hard to show it in a black on black picture.

I'm liking that! This is unpainted? Will there be an option for a more matte finish?

Yeah. That's the paintable abs version. Just used the cheapest stuff for the fit-up. There will be a matte black, Textured TPO, and Bed-lined version as well. Those are the best sellers we have right now for the Tacoma.

Southeast Toyota is an independent distributor, so these are not Toyota parts. Which means Southeast Toyota is getting them from a vendor of some sort.

I've said it earlier in the thread, but cost will be a little up in the air until we finish our manufacturing assessment and get quotes from a painter. I've scheduled a meeting with what I hope will be our painter this weekend so I should at least have that cost. Rest assured, they'll be reasonably priced. For availability, we're still on track for the late December/January release. I'll keep the thread up to date when I get new info.

December in time for a Christmas gift = happy marriage. Post Christmas to tack onto holiday debt = bad for marriage. Timing is everything.

I'm not going to even try to act smart and pretend like I fully understand what thermoformed means :D but I assume we're talking about basically a "plastic" cover and my experience with plastics that remain outside and exposed to constant UV is that they often warp, get brittle, break at the fastening locations, etc over time. Though I'm far from an expert on automotive body work and finishes. Been trying to visit other forums and see what owners of different trucks are saying but the product hasn't been around for more than a couple years from what I can tell. So might be too soon to say. But any R&D-based comments on how the product is intended to hold up long term? Has any warping been reported? Didn't see anything on the Ecoological website Warranty page to really indicate if this is supposed to be a "permanent" one-time solution or if it has a finite life expectancy but I assume with a factory paint-matched finish it is designed to hold up just like any other OE plastic? In other words if well cared for should we expect it to last the life of the vehicle? I'm weighing the pros and cons of vinyl vs Bumpershellz. DEFINITELY IN if this is the first and last time I ever have to cover my chrome!
