This dude is going to sell a million of the cup holder surrounds.
Seems no one likes the chrome there, even the chrome guys.

Part one...finally getting rid of the cup holder chrome blinding piece. I had the shifter bezel off today but not sure I want to tackle that one yet.

One coat done, now it's just waiting and waiting and waiting for multiple coats. If the Plastidip doesn't work, I'll try the spray on bedliner like above.

I don't care for the TuffSkins insert as it's flat and I'm not a fan of all the bolt bling on the AJT pieces.

If it is off, tape it up and spray it! 2 choices, break plastic molds and spray just the chrome piece and put back together (some have done this) or tape it up good and just hit the chrome as it's still attached. You got this!

Sorry, I had the piece above the bezel off. The piece that easily pries up. The actually shifter piece underneath, that still has the 2 clips you have to pry and remove it with, I didn't remove.

My issue right now is, it's freezing cold and I'm thinking the plastic may be more brittle. I'll get to it, but may wait for the weather to warm up and see how the Plastidip drink holder stands up.

All coats are done on the cup holder, it looks sweet. I'll take a pic when I put it back.

I actually tapped off shifter chrome and sprayed it right in place. It seemed to work ok, but didn't take a few places. Likely do to it being so cold. It looked fine, but looked DIY, which I wasn't happy with, so ripped the Plastidip off.

A good experiment none the less

Gotcha, well keep us posted on how it holds up. Hopefully the cold doesnt effect it and it comes out to your standards. If not, at least you'll know what you are doing when it warms up.

For sure . Thanks for the support and vote of confidence

Not the best day to be working outside. I put up our outdoor Christmas lights before it started to really freeze. Don't like being up on a steel latter when it's like that.

This is what the truck like like. That is ICE, not water. All from this morning

Plasti Dipped mine and has held up well. Also did the silver around the shifter since but don’t have a pic.

Mine got delivered today and took me 15 minutes to install. Like it MUCH better than the plastidip chrome I had previously.

Great! Zero issues and I have a metal hydro flask coffee thermos I use daily and my wife has one that gets used on the weekends.

I’ll snap a photo tonight if I remember too.

Completed my install this past weekend as well for the AJT. The process was overall pretty painless and the look is amazing.

Yea I took my center console inside cause it’s 12 degrees out their the shifter housing was the hardest to take off cause it’s plastic welded so I drilled the spots and used a big flat head screw driver to pry it apart was a little nerve wrecking cause I don’t like to damage parts when I’m working after it finally broke lose I sanded down the left over plastic and drilled the holes
