    Hey guys,

My name is Loren and we live in South Eastern Washington state right near where the Columbia, Snake and Yakima rivers converge. Mostly desert terrain here as well as the climate. We get about 6 inches of precipitation per year here. I’m new to the forum, but have lurked here for some time.
I own a 2014 Toyota Tundra (USK57L-CHTSKA) with tow package. Essentially, a long bed, double cab, 4x4 with the 5.7 liter engine. I retire in about 10 months and we are re-locating up to near Fairbanks, Alaska. I recently purchased a new Arctic Fox 22G trailer which I will be towing, along with as much of our belongings I can stuff into the trailer and bed. My wife will be following, towing another, smaller trailer with her 2013 Toyota 4-Runner. We love our Toyotas, and my Tundra is the best vehicle I have ever owned. I did buy it used, but it has been rock solid, save for my blinker lights needing replacement. Thanks for having me. I look forward to learning here.

So, the wet weight of my trailer is right around 7,500 pounds. My trucks towing capacity is 10,000 pounds. So far, no issues.
Here is my question. How does this tow weight affect my truck bed carrying capacity? Thanks.

The pin weight of the trailer is added to your truck’s GVWR. So if you have 1,000lbs remaining to reach your GVWR and the trailer has a 400lb pin weight, you have capacity for an additional 600lbs in the truck. This assumes all the weight doesn’t exceed your rear axle or tire capacity.

I took my truck and trailer to a truck scale to get real world numbers.
