@602runner Interested in the bed Rail tie downs. Will they be able to be placed at any point, or will they have to slide in from the end of the rail like the stock ones?

Do you have a width measurement you could provide as well? I have a GFC mounted to my rails and have limited space on either end of the rail to mount tie downs. My stock ones are way too long.

 

I put mine on the toolbox, classy sticker. Unfortunately, it seems when you buy top-shelf aftermarket stuff, it always comes with a sticker, so you may be stuck!

If it was less expensive for you I think it could be a lot smaller?

 

I don't mind it, I just want people to stick them on something and not throw them out!

Thanks for all the orders. I’m hoping to ship on Friday, the machine shop is running behind at the moment.

 

Last week I finally go around to installing my bead tie downs in place of the rear OEM.

First I needed the right tools and found I did not have the correct sizes so picked up a new set of sockets.

With the correct tools removal was easy but I could not stand the exposed metal. So I made a shield out of a shoe box top and hit each side with a couple shots of black gloss spray paint.

Let the paint cure for an hour and then installed the new tie downs. Very happy with these so I ordered a set for the front!

Lastly, installed sticker on the tool cabinet.

 

I love a good excuse to buy new tools. Nice install, digging the sticker too!

What are these bed tie downs you speak of?

 

There are bed rail tie downs in the works. I would instantly pull the trigger on those; but I haven't purchased the original tie downs...will they work with the Total Chaos Bed Stiffeners?

1. These are now PATENT PENDING!

2. I had the opportunity to install a set of Bed Tie-Down Anchors on a Tacoma and wanted to test the torque required. The correct torque range for an M8 bolt into steel threads is 15-25 lb/ft, so I started at 15, then 20, then 25 lb/ft. I felt 25 lb/ft was too much for the Tacoma’s plastic bed, and I don’t want people breaking their trucks installing my parts. I have revised the engraving to read “Torque to 20 lb/ft” in case anyone is actually getting out the torque wrench when they install these. For current customers - please torque your Tie-Downs to 20lb/ft not 25!

3. I’ve held out as long as possible, but my machinist is battling rising material costs and we finally had to bump up the price. I kept the increase as modest as possible, so these are now $89/pair. I hope that’s not too much to make somebody who wants them for their truck to not purchase them. In the end, this has to be a sustainable venture for myself, and the parties involved in manufacturing, or else it’s simply not worth doing anymore. I’ll continue the 10% off a second pair discount. I’ll also refund the difference from the original price for any forum customers who purchase from my remaining stock before the price increase, just shoot me a message to let me know you ordered. I have black and red left from this batch.

TLDR:

 

These replace the front tie-downs, so no problem to use them with the TC bed stiffeners.

 

New inventory coming in next week! I’m excited because with this big order I’ll be able to ship any of your orders the same day or next day.
